I didn’t go but watched the live stream of it. Overall it was fairly positive
As well as the above tweets, Lee Hoos had a bit to say about the FFP and some of the legal side they’re trying to appeal but obviously he couldn’t say much about it. As well as that, Ollie pretty much confirmed we haven’t got the funds to bring in a good proven striker either permenantly or on loan. Hoos also admitted that we’re now becoming a selling club to try and balance the books.
Apparently the only debt we have in the club at the moment is the money that the shareholders have invested, which is in the region of £40m. The numbers of around £200m + that the papers are reporting are complete rubbish.
It sounds like plans for the training ground are full steam ahead so we will have to see what’s going to happen there, and it sounded like they’re still trying to secure the land for the new stadium, but we will be at Loftus Road for the foreseeable future (if I understood that bit correctly)
Anybody remember JET? Well they pretty much confirmed that he’s not following rules or protocol about the weight of players and so has no part to play at the moment. Eze is one for the future and is apparently learning some good stuff under Gareth at Wycombe.
Thanks for the titbits! They are always a strange event as their isn't too much they can really say and the same subjects tend to be covered every time.
At least they are willing to meet with fans and we do learn a few things each time.
I imagine they will be hoping to make a few quid on Caulker rather than him leaving for free in the summer. Ngbakoto is another we could get some money on and he isn't really involved at the moment.
The stadium will be on the back burner whilst we remain in the second tier. Hopefully the training ground can be sorted in the next few years though.
The real crime with JET was us giving him a 3 year deal. A year later we aren't even willing to give Faurlin and Hill new one year deals!
Like ranger-boy I watched the live stream after catching it by chance through FB. I have to wonder if Ollie really believes we have the right strikers and that it is more a question of the midfield's supply? Ollie does a lot of research before meeting opponents and I cannot believe he does not extend that to measuring assist/conversion rates for our strikers. I am pretty sure that they fail to convert as many as other Championship strikers.
I would add a couple of items to that mentioned already:
The club's involvement in the community was talked about with equal passion by Ollie, Les and Lee, especially in regard to Grenfell. As a club they should be proud of their work in this area. It was interesting to note though that Lee went on to say that getting early (primary school) contact with children, including meeting players, helped convert them to fans, being the strongest counter to televised PL games.
Ollie gave greater details of the Chief's hamstring injury. It happened early in the game but he carried on nevertheless until half time, even though obviously in pain and struggling, and offered to carry on but warned he would not be able to run. No small wonder as it turned out he had ripped the hamstring right off the bone! How he managed to play with that level of injury is beyond me!!
All in all, a positive message coming out of the club despite FFP and the stadium problems.
