Apologies for the delay getting these results up, the forum issues prevented me seeing the predictions correctly.
It was 6 points for stoatey, jimjams, qprfcfromwhitecity, Ghost and qprallan in Match 1 as they predicted Brighton would beat Liverpool 2-1
CutePR had a blinder in Match 2 getting Omochere as first scorer and the 46-60 first goal time. jimjams got the goal time too but they were the only points scored.
Bristol City won 3-0 in Match 3 - only kingfisher and LurkR predicted a City win.
Ricardo Rangers and LurkR went for a draw in Match 4 for 3 points - nobody went for 3-3
There were 19 bookings in the 4 games and that was to decide the tie between Ghost and stoatey who were level on 9 points but Ghost was 2 numbers closer on the goal difference to make it through to the Quarter Finals. CutePR had a bye as SydneyR failed to enter but scored well anyway. The unluckiest loser was jimjams who would have been through in many other ties but lost to qprallan who scored 10. The finalists in the recent World Cup competition Rosco Bosco and ranger-boy both make much earlier exits this time around.
qprallan is into a first Quarter Final in nearly FIVE years and kingfisher makes it for the first time in 5 cups.
Here is how Round 2 ended up:
Quarter Finals:
Round 3 - the Quarter Finals - sees the remaining 8 players going head to head again. As mentioned before Round 2 the winner of Tie 1 plays the winner of Tie 5, 2 plays 6, 3 plays 7 and 4 plays 8. This is the same pre-set draw order as previous cups.
That leaves us with the following Quarter Final line up with 8 players still in with a chance of getting 10 bonus points for the QPR Prediction League:
Tie 1: CutePR Vs QPRBex
Tie 2: kingfisher Vs qprallan
Tie 3: Ghost Vs Ricardo Rangers
Tie 4: qprfcfromwhitecity Vs LurkR
The points all reset to zero. Round 1/2 score and previous goal difference only come into play going forward if there is no separating the players in the next round.
The Quarter Finals will use the FA Cup 5th round matches which take place midweek so remember to keep an eye out for them. The Quarter Finals will be open to enter once the FA Cup 5th Round match dates have been set.
