The thing none of us want to see is Dykes and Martin up front and us playing hoof ball. But Martin as back up plus mentor for Armstrong plus general good influence could work, provided the financial side works out.
The fact he's being linked with Swindon if he doesn't stay with us speaks volumes.
Singlespeed is right there has to be somebody somewhere in the lower leagues who is younger who could do a job.
Or dare I say it...as a "development club" have we still got nobody in the youth ranks even good enough to sit on the bench and cover Dykes here and there?

Hamzad Kargbo: A tall 21 year old, he has already been out on loan to Oxford and Southend, although did little with them, but he is training with the First Team.

The club has 4 young strikers whose ages range between 20yo and 21yo and all now need to prove that they can step up and challenge for a first team place.
Charlie Kelman (21yo) has had a couple of loans and played in Orients promotion winning team. Needs to now establish himself as a member of the QPR first team.
Sinclair Armstrong (20yo) despite not scoring a goal in his first season with the first team he's a crowd favourite and his strength and pace make him a top prospect. Ideally he needs to go out on loan to get regular game time.
As already mentioned by kingfisher, Hamzad Kargbo is 21yo, has had a couple of loans and because of his size he's used more as a target man.
Alife Lloyd (20 yo) came in from Yeovil and has a proven goal scoring record in the youth ranks. Last season we loaned him to Eastleigh where he did a good job and he now needs to get matches at League level.
This won't please northwesthoop but the Daily Mirror and Bristol World are reporting that both us and Bristol City are looking to sign Chris Martin from Bristol Rovers.
Martin's contract at Bristol Rovers was a short term deal that finishes in late January 2024.

Personally, I'd rather we went with Armstrong starting alongside Dykes for the rest of the season, and just stuck with it. Rather that than bring Martin back. Save on a wage, and give Sinclair some valuable game time.

True, and it would stop the new pitch from being dug up by Martin's zimmer frame.....
