Reality check After one win in god knows how many against Watford Did we really think 2 wins in a row would be as simple as that Personally think we underestimated our opponents and got caught with our pants down We are a dire side really and will be very reliant on others slipping up and players returning from injury to stay in this league
How is this a penalty? The guy literally volleys the ball at Dickie from 1 yard away and it hits his arm.
The video is in slow motion and Dickie is already sliding to block before the strike, so how can it possibly be intentional? Where are his arms meant to be sliding like that. His arm is at worst protecting his face.

The officiating wasn't great all night and in the Championship we've seen some really poor decisions all season. The penalty was one of those that a home team probably gets because the ref is influenced by the crowd.
The trouble last night was that you, kingfisher, me and Daveb could have officiated that game and been 100% biased towards QPR but we'd still have lost because we were so abysmal.

So true. Unless we helped them defend the set pieces they were a lost cause.

I'd have sent a few of ours off and tried to get it abandoned
You are right though, was never a penalty but you can't react to a bad decision like that, 89 minutes to go regroup and get back in the game or you know throw your arms in the air moaning and get battered. We went for option 2

We are all agreed it seems the penalty was grossly unfair and Dieng's error led to another goal; but we also agree that the team leaving the field last Saturday should have been capable of rising to the deficit and turning it around. What happened was a meltdown at the back, with Drewe certainly targeted; a midfield that failed to support the defence adequately and failed to dominate the midfield; and our attack was woeful in that they failed to string passes together and failed to convert chances into goals. Quite how you can go in a few days from the euphoria of beating a PL-packed Watford to a performance that made BBC Sport headlines - for all the wrong reasons! To put this into perspective: we moan about spending good money supporting a side that favours banana skins - how do you think the directors feel shelling out £millions on this!?

To the muppets* that have been calling for Sam Field in defence. This is exactly what happens when you take him out of the midfield, and why it is imperative he stays patrolling the centre of the pitch.
* i use the word muppets jovially and affectionately, not derogatorily

I was talking with Animal Ainsworth after the Watford game and he said that you approved of Field playing in defence,
If that’s what Ainsworth football is then I’ll have that all day everyday.
Best game Iroegbunam has had for us. Drewe is an excellent little find. Field magnificent again. And Chris Martin, makes a HUGE difference and making him captain is a statement.
Blackpool 6 Qpr 1 😆Ainsworth out of his depth 😂 another manager who thinks because he loves himself, the sound of his own voice & tries to look different to create an image …that’s what gets results 😏obviously not in a proper league
This is generally sort of talk going round today above,it’s not his fault, players probably down tools due his tough stance and the previous manager before him

Huge win. Huge performance
This is true I did approve of his performance, but I don’t approve of him playing at the back. Am I wrong in saying he played in midfield in the first half on Saturday?? I did watch the game, but maybe my brain is playing tricks on me?
I also don’t approve of these fans demanding their money back either.
Blackpool is the team that could drag into the bottom 3 Huddersfield and Wigan I think are as good as gone But that easy win and 3 more points we gave them has created that small 7 point gap now Birmingham beat us and Blackpool beat Coventry Saturday we are in real trouble

I agree that Field is much better in midfield although it doesn't really matter where he plays if we keep making silly mistakes and can't defend set pieces. It really does sum up our season when you compare how we played against Watford to the shambles against Blackpool.
