blackpool had'nt scored a lot of goals before they played us then it becomes a basketball match score
Good point, remember us on the preview show saying that they only had 6 goals in 11 games and Dave joked we'd sort it out for them.... we didn't expect 6 in 90 minutes though!
Balogun is a player we really could do with coming back
Balogun does give the defence a lot more stability. In the 8 games he's finished we've only lost 2 and earlier this season when we played Wigan at home he got on the scoresheet.

Balogun, Laird and Willock all played in the 'B' Team's match against Birmingham on Monday. Balogun & Laird got 45 minutes, and Willock had 62 mins.... Let's assume all three make the bench.

Good preview show lads! It says a lot when our top scorers are Willock & Dykes (6 goals each) and they have been unavailable for loads of matches. Others have not stepped up and used the opportunity to score!
The return of Balogun, Willock and Laird offers some relief, but we should remember we still do not have a true LWB and Kakay is said to still be suffering from a knee injury got in the Birmingham game. So, here is my revised guess:
Dieng Dickie Balogun Dunne Laird Field Johansen Tim Sinclair Dykes Willock

Yes that stat with our top scorer on 6 hasn't changed since before the World Cup. Just crazy.
The news that Kakay is likely to miss out does cause us a big issue at the back. Does he go with Drewe at left back? Or could we even see Dozzell or Field forced to play left wing back?
Or maybe he will have to play Laird over that side with Drewe or Adomah on the right.
None of those combinations are ideal and cause us a headache.
It seems that some of the cavalry will be available for this game and whilst it might be a risk to start them all I think that it might be a risk worth taking to play several of them.
Our only natural left back is Paal so I'd hope he's back for this one and with Kakay injured then we will also need to start Laird. Even more important could be the return of Leon Balogun who would be a huge asset in our central defence. A match fit and on form Willock is arguably our best player and whilst he might get minutes I don't see him starting.

My understanding from the media and GA's pre-match video is that both Paal and Kakay had knee injuries and, whilst Kakay's is not major and he will be available for selection, Paal's problem is the more serious of the two. So, I do not expect him to be available (unless this is deception) and he will be sorely missed! I really do not want to see Field removed from his effective duties as DM to cover LB or (more likely) LWB though! That is why in my line-up I had Willock there instead as a 'best worse-case' option... The club has painted itself into a corner by relying upon Paal's fitness and having no viable alternative!

I'm probably clutching at straws regarding Paal although I believe the club have stated both him and Chair are back training. The trouble is that the club has a policy of embellishing the truth so who knows whether we are getting anything truthful from them.
I think that we have to be hopeful that with Balogun returning and getting minutes in mid week that he will return and Sam Field can return to the midfield.
It's noticeable that the club have chosen to put Leon Balogun front and centre of their "its matchday" posts. Suggests that at the very least he's in the squad.
I'm still struggling to work out how the defence shapes up if neither Paal or Kakay are fit.
