Was OLLIE right by having a go at supporters for leaving the BRENTFORD game early when we were losing 2-0. I could understand him had he said I was disappointed that some fans left early. But to tell fans that if you leave early then stay at home. It appears that the club also agreed this was wrong hence the apologies. Had I been the owner of the club he would be looking for a new job for those comments.
He wasn't right to have a go to answer the question in the title first.
However, I think we all know he just meant to say "you should have stayed, you missed a great ending, my boys need you". That wouldn't have been so bad.
The fact he got all worked up and starting looking down the camera and saying "stay at home" was too far.
Sacking a manager for those comments though is never going to happen. Not even nearly a sackable offence.
What it has done though is lost Holloway some favour with the fans. Another couple of losses now and there is a little bit less support out there for him. I sense fans won't quite cut him as much slack as they may have done a week ago.
Maybe next home game we should all stay at home Stupid comment but yes the ones that went early missed a great ending to a match and most will regret they went early now Ollie put yourself in the fans situation, your team has lost last 3 games in a row including being totally outplayed by villa at home, again we were outplayed by Brentford and the game was dead and buried I'd of gone early as most on here would of done too
He could have by his comments caused a GERALD RATNER effect where losses were made by the company. He told fans not to bother coming which could cause the club financial harm. And the club saw it that way that's why he was told to apologise. And I bet with OLLIE had we lost 2-0 He would have said WHO CAN BLAME THE FANS FOR LEAVING.

To the letter of the law I suppose you are correct but I cannot see the club, or any club, coming out with that one!
"Ian Holloway has been been relieved of his duties as first team manager of Queens Park Rangers due to the Gerald Ratner effect.
Lee Hoos has calculated a downfall in revenue of 3% following Ian Holloway's recent comments that fans should stay at home if they are going to leave early"
Ollie should have thought more carefully about what he said, but then that is not Ollie is it? The fans who left before the end (perhaps because the team was not playing well or because they had a long haul hone with work the next day) would have felt bad enough already, without Ollie ranting at them about their loyalty. What about the dedication of the fans who regularly travel to away wins and still await a win...? Ollie should have admitted that he set up the makeshift team wrongly up front, and also just said that those leaving early might want to think hard before they do it again as our players never give up!?
No he shouldn’t have slagged off those who left early and I’m sure he regrets it now. But I’m happy to forgive him. He always wears his heart on his sleeve (which is part of the reason we love him) and emotions were particularly high after coming back from dead in injury time.
It was thoughtless and stupid comment that can do damage to both club and him. The last occasion was JFH who put himself before the club. Then a few week's later after a great result against a team where we have never won was SACKED. Beware OLLIE.
