Ainsworth tactics exactly same as Burnley 20% possession only It’s a very negative way of playing but it’s worked And got us 2 away wins and a vital 6 points

Yes I was thinking the same during the match. I do not enjoy the football style he plays (or has been forced to play), but it has provided those 6 points as you say.
I was delighted for Albert Adomah to get a goal today and you can see how much it meant to him. As I feel he may be gone at the end of the season it is a nice bit of icing on the cake.
kingfisher @singlespeed I'd rather have away performances like that and actually win games than play open football and lose 3-2, 4-3 or 6-0 away from home.
I do find it odd how since Guardiola has come to England every fanbase across the country seems to prioritise style of play and aesthetics over results. Football clubs use to exist to win football matches, not to entertain. If the game was about entertainment than every single person in the country would be a Manchester City supporter wouldn't they??
20% possession but we never really looked under threat all game. Stoke's possession stats were so high because they had all the ball in front of us, never looked to penetrate in behind. Only time they ever looked dangerous were through switches of play between the wing-backs. We were comfortable throughout. I'll go even as far as to say that the last two weekends have been possibly the two best performances of the entire season.

When we attempted to play open attacking football We were constantly caught out on the break Our lack of pace was exposed The last 2 away games, teams couldn’t get in behind us as we sitting back and inviting them on This tactic worked a treat and kept us in the championship

This will be the big question/test going forward... Can we keep playing that like next season? Surely not. And then it still begs the question is Ainsworth the man to lead the rebuild? Tricky. I do like Ainsworth but have some doubts.
@northwesthoop you at the game? Could've sworn the feed just cut you in the crowd?
I was at the game, had no signal whatsoever for some reason so couldn't do any updates or check the forum until traveling home. I'll check out the play back of the game when they release it 😁

It is good to win games (of course) but under Warburton and Beale we also played football that was good to be watched. That is what both singlespeed and I are referring to - winning in an entertaining way. We often see sides coming to Loftus Road that I would dread to watch week in, week out!
I may be one of the few supporters who thought Greece were mazing the year they won the Euros, probably helps that my wife is half Greek...anyway for my part I want us to win games and I want us to play as a team...beyond that I'm not too fussed about style.
Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me but how expansive was the QPR team that NW got promoted...I feel like it was a very defensive solid team that was made to look amazing because of Tarrabt?
Didn't we win loads of games 1 - 0 (I'll look it up)
My point is we only need one, possibly 2, exciting forward players for this style of football to be quite exciting...I thought the lack of possession yesterday was due to our forward players giving it away needlessly.
Give me a solid and impenetrable team with one flair player next season, followed by one nil wins and promotion and I'll be very happy thank you

First half, about 29 minutes I believe
I look forward to checking it out, I appreciate the heads up.
It was interesting watching the shorter highlights this morning to see how little either team created in the first half. It didn't feel as boring in the ground with the atmosphere but goodness me it was basically just Stoke passing it around. It felt like they were putting us under pressure but they didn't create a single thing. Not one for the neutrals!
