Reasons for being a QPR fan.

Yes I get QPR from my Dad. I grew up where everybody supports Manchester United, Liverpool, Everton etc so he was perhaps lucky I stuck with QPR but I always liked supporting a different team to everybody else.

Teachers would talk to me about QPR whereas everybody else was just boring to them! Even now people always seem to remember me more because I'm the only QPR fan they've ever known, it's the first thing that comes up in any conversation. Thankfully my little boy seems to have adopted the same approach and likes the uniqueness rather than the glory hunting.

My mum was born in Shepherd’s Bush literally yards from the ground,my uncle and my nan and grandad all QPR fans
My dad was from Lancaster but my mum met him in London and you guess he was a QPR fan
My first game he took me to before he went to prison and only decent memory I have of him was Bristol rovers at loftus road with my little brother
Remember the distant thudding noise at the train station while we’re waiting on the platform then the sudden noise of Bristol rovers fans running at us and the police with their wooden truncheons
My dad encircled himself round me and my little brother so we wouldn’t get hurt,remember him shouting “throw him on the track “when the police had a Bristol rovers fan in handcuffs
It was a interesting day to say the least and my brother ended up supporting Liverpool funny enough,but not me
Where I live in Chesham most people support Arsenal or West Ham and Watford but there is a lot of QPR fans
We are only 45 min drive away from loftus road so maybe that’s why,but it’s QPR till the day I die

I actually was a United fan as a kid, my first memories are 2002 World Cup and was caught up in Beckham-mania so was United because of that. However, common theme again, QPR were Dads team. He grew up in Northolt and had supported them since he was 13 (1966), he was Spurs initially owing to an infatuation with Jimmy Greaves , but one lad took him to QPR when he was at school and he never looked back. He took me for the first time when I was five and we went once or twice every year up until 2008 when he unexpectedly left my mum and us for somebody else. Came as a big surprise. And though up until then QPR had been his team, and I had always had the kits, after he left I started following QPR partly because I knew I was never financially going to be able to get from Hastings to Old Trafford ever, and partly as a way of preserving the close relationship I had with him. Was the best decision I have ever made. It gives us something to chat about every week, and I look at my brother who has zero interest in football, and how the relationship he has with my Dad has disintegrated into a superficial one, and I feel vindicated in my decision.

Grew up in Wycombe when they were non league, my dad wasnt that fussed about football, I was a Liverpool fan as a young kid then one of my mates teachers started to take us to Loftus road.... 

We have little choice but to keep the faith anthoops - you can change your job, your home and even your partner, but you cannot change your football club!

I startred supporting QPR around the 82 cup final after my Dad started taking me, we won the league the following year beating all before us, then finished 5th in the Prem/Div 1, then played in Europe and reached another cup final. I think I might be a glory hunter who made a bad choice
