Yes it is concerning, especially as the prep & pre-match talk obviously did not work! Neither did the Half Time talk around improving the defending and attacking... Like you, I expected GA to focus upon tight defending and fast ball movement out into attack. When he does that I expect him to rant. If he cannot get this squad to work harder and better then who can?
The trouble is that GA is out of his depth. He can get them fitter but he can't make them faster. The worry again was that in his after match comments he intimated that some weren't trying.
For a manager admitting that he can't get players to make an effort is an admission of failure. We know the players don't have the quality required to play in the Championship but if the manager can't even get them to try then we're in deep, deep dodo.
Can he? Did you think they looked fitter yesterday!?
Too many of them looked off the pace and struggled to compete. Dozzel looked lethargic and seemed to be either unable or unwilling to track his opposing midfielders.
I know that the majority of this team aren't of the quality needed for Championship football but if you honestly believe that this lot were fully fit then its going to be an even tougher season than I'm expecting and there is nothing to cling to.

I think the loan market is the last throw of the dice. We're always fairly active getting loans in, 4-5 each season. They've got to get it right this year. Not wasting any on injury prone players. They need to act fast, get loans in soon, and they'll need to hit the ground running.

It's certainly an option although I doubt our finances will stretch to 4 or 5 loan signings but maybe 1 or 2. A lot will depend on how much the loan will cost and how much each player is paid in wages.
