This seems like a positive move, where his multi-sport background may well help us. Shame in a way he was not established in the role in time to organise the pre-season training.
I've read that a few times and I'm still not 100% sure what he actually going to be doing and how it takes QPR forward on the pitch.
It's all soundbites and sounding clever in my view
I am very excited about this new role and developing a culture of collaboration, integration and innovation throughout the club that truly impacts performance. Our aim is to build a unified system that utilises the knowledge and experience within the whole club, not just within departments or teams
Well...you must surely admit that something is rotten at the heart of our medical and health setup...if he can at least diagnose the problem that would be something!
If I have understood his role correctly, Ben will ensure that sports analysis, physios and training coaches will be better integrated in their approach to fitness than now. Whether that will result in a more defined route to pre-season fitness or recovery, or even to maintain fitness during the season, I am not sure. Given the number of hamstring and ACL injuries in previous seasons, we can only hope he makes a difference!
So we now have a Director of Performance to join the Physical Performance Coach. Two new overpaid members of the backroom staff. If they really want to improve our performance its simple.
Just sign some defenders who can defend and some strikers who can score goals rather than sicknotes and under performers who sulk when the going gets tough.
We are a club that makes the easiest things complicated.

It appears that Ben Williams could be leaving us to join a team in the NBA.
We all kind of joked when he joined, but in the end it seems he did make a difference with individual plans for each player and building players fitness up correctly. Look at JCS for example. And overall we did have a lot less injuries last season (albeit personalities probably played a part in that, less Tyler Roberts types).
Overall it seems he did a very credible job.
It will be interesting to see if him leaving makes a difference and also interesting to see if we replace him.
I think we all had a giggle when this guy was taken on but all the top clubs like arsenal and Man City have guys like these They motivate individuals and get the best out of them on and off the pitch Training wise could be a big loss to the staff and team
