There’s a lot of clubs needing quality managers now Marti is going to be a wanted man now Unfortunately Burnley would really suit him But I’ve heard they will hand it to Craig Bellamy who was kompany assistant so we’re ok for now
I thought Bellamy had gone with Kompany to be his assistant at Bayern Munich?
Rumour has it he’s staying But weirdly second favourite is Scott Parker for job
Scott Parker would make more sense in the short-term. He has experience of the PL and is a known quantity, whereas Marti Cifuentes is unproven but a great long-term prospect. (Talking of long-term prospect, that is something Marti should be aware of - the very real threat that Boards these days have far less patience and may not wait for his new style to be properly understood and implemented.)

Are you hoping he's reading this kingfisher? :-)
Well, to be totally honest, I was hoping someone would mention that comment to Burnley's hierarchy!
A lot will depend on how much the board is willing to support Marti in pursuit of those signings he wants to bring into QPR. Managers like players have ambition and want to reach the highest levels.
Realistically, if Burnley does come calling and they offer him more wages plus a transfer budget several times higher than ours he will be off like a shot. If that does happen then I'd be disappointed but good luck to him. It was interesting that Sheffield Wednesday recently gave Danny Rohl a long term contract which seems to have warded off interest from other clubs. In addition I'd imagine that there might also be a big compensation package.
We just have to hope that our board are already looking for a possible replacement should Marti want to jump ship.

I do agree that it probably revolves around whether Marti Cifuentes believes QPR can do far better this season coming stoatey. For that to happen there has to be astute transfers and that will require a 'war chest'. If that looks likely, and the club offers a much improved contract, then he should believe he is at the right club to match his ambitions (for now).
I'll repeat again the club needs to make him the highest paid person at the club. Just put all the rumours to bed. Like Ipswich have done, like Sheffs Weds have done.
All the optimism at the club relates to Cifuentes. Our hope we can attract better players is because Cifuentes is here.
I don’t think Marti will be our manager by this time next season gents
I think you are right about that jrperry1882, so the only question is whether he leaves at the end of next season (flush with success) or is poached earlier. As northwesthoop has said often: we need to nail him down with a long contract - whatever we have to pay him. that way, if he is poached, it will have to be for a substantial compensation package.
I'd imagine that until the club believe that Marti is definitely staying they will not want to make any new signings. As we saw with Beale there can never be any guarantees but unless the club feel confident that Marti will start the new season as QPR manager they won't want to commit to bringing in one of his signings.

I can sort of understand that stoatey but that leaves us in the position of finding out all the deals we are interested in have already happened, and so we are back to expensive loans once more... The club needs to push hard for a contract extension and give Marti and deadline if that is the case.
Sunderland have a new head coach, so that's one less club hovering around Marti. Hopefully Burnley will sort something soon. I see that Ruud van Nistelrooy is the hot favourite there, so fingers crossed. I'd expect things to settle down with clubs heading into pre-season.
