So the squad is off to Portugal today so pre-season is well under way.
Here is the squad going on tour:
Wszolek, Luongo and Petrasso are missing due to international duty.
However JET, Doughty, Shodipo, Gladwin and Caulker look like their time at the club is near an end.
What on earth has happened to Caulker especially? The club really needto update the fans on whether he is injured or what is going on. If he is fit he should be included. If he just sits around this season until his contract runs out we effectively wasted £8 million plus all the wages he has cost.
SHODIPO and DOUGHTY I would say no. But the others yes and more ELKOYOTE The other Pole. Also I look into who's gone and maybe why. LUMLEY maybe were expecting a move for SMITHIES. BOWLER to say you can be part of squad here rather than a nobody at EVERTON. COX hopefully he will get games this season I have been banging on about this kid for ages. ROBINSON last chance to impress.
Good to see a good number of young'uns provided that they are good enough. Not so good if it is just because our financial position doesn't allow us to have enough cover.
Pity that Shodipo misses out. He was a rare bright point in the early part of last season.

Holloway just doesn't seem to like/rate Shodipo at all. He blamed him for defeat or goal conceded if I remember and he was sent out on loan as a result.
To be fair though he didn't really feature for a relegated Port Vale side in the league below.
I said at the time of his loan when OLLIE blamed him it was wrong to put it down to the kid. OLLIE should have shouldered the blame for it and his poor tactics. As was the case for many games last season
Hopefully they'll all be coming back very fit and raring to go, apparently they were doing the hill runs yesterday as that's the worst one complete now (according to Mackies video diary)
We have 2 friendlies in Germany this weekend, if anybody is either there in person or watches the stream why not do a match report for us or feedback on the pros and cons of the performances!
SYLLA has not settled so maybe that's a reason. You will remember he had family issues.
Can't recall Sylla having family issues. It was Ngbakoto whose father died soon after he arrived.
Sylla is reportedly a poor trainer and still has not learnt English.
I felt that both Ngbakoto and Sylla thought they could excel in the Championship on their technical skills alone. Now they should be focusing more upon their physicality and stamina.
