Dykes taken off on a stretcher during Scotland's training session today. Awaiting a scan.
Absolute nightmare, we need him to have a good Euros so he either comes back confident or attracts a move.
Hopefully it's just an impact injury but he's a tough lad and there are images of him in pain being carried off.
They are apparently reviewing the scans today, but even if it is not a broken ankle or ACL, he will be out for a while. Scotland can call up others but, as it stands, QPR have just Frey and Armstrong....

Now officially ruled out of the tournament. What a real shame for him. Speedy recovery Lyndon.
Agreed. He was (hopefully) starting to get back to the form we wished for too.... Now the club needs to work out a solution as we cannot rely upon Armstrong or Frey I feel.
Eze starts one of the games, most probably from the left. He makes the Euro Squad.
players cut will be - James Trafford - Luke Shaw (owing to injury) - Adam Wharton - Lewis Dunk - Jarell Quansah (only in squad so Scotland don’t cap him) - James Maddison - Jarrod Bowen
Always love your definitive, spicy hot takes but...

In my defence I did put this up pre-Bosnia. I didn’t expect Dunk to play well, nor did expect Shaw to be fit or Wharton to be as good as he was when he came on. The Bowen one I find utterly baffling. He’s fourth choice on the left, fourth choice down the middle. He’s not quick, nor technically the best. Also played 7 times for England and done absolutely nothing in any of the games. Why he’s not gone with Grealish is beyond me. Only thing I can think of is he doesn’t like him, nor Maddison, as a person. Thinks they’re too cocky. Too arrogant and have too much to say for themselves. Having been like that myself when I played, I would expect Grealish and Maddison are two players who would challenge the authority of the manager if they thought he was going in the wrong direction. I think that’s partly why he’s binned them off. If you look at Eze’s numbers, pre-March, they are very similar to Grealish’s. So I don’t necessarily buy into the idea that people have had ‘better seasons’. But I mean Eze had to go because he dribbles with the ball and carries it in ways the others don’t. He’s an important substitute. Game gets to 70-75 minutes and you need someone to just go at players and commit, win fouls, etc then Eze is the man for that.
jimjams my hot takes for the tournament are for Austria to reach the Semi-Finals, Ukraine to win their Group, Spain or Italy (havent decided which) to go out in the Group Stage, and for Portugal to win it. I also think Denmark will go out in the Group stage as well.

I wish you hadn't said that because I am a betting man!
