As is our way during the International break we like to play a behind doors friendly. This time it was against Wycombe Wanderers at our Heston training complex. There was still no JCS or Colback .
Marti will no doubt have been happy to get more minutes into Fox and Chair but it was Wycombe who ran out 1-0 winners. Whilst Dembele did create several chances it was our age old issue of not being able to defend and not being clinical in front of goal that let us down .
Marti gave minutes to several players and made the following changes during the game.
Dunne for Cook (46) Friel for Ashby (80) EDB for Field (46) Madsen for Morgan (61) Andersen for Dembele (61) Saito for Chair (61) Shann for Bennie (81) Frey for Lloyd (61)
jimjams as I said about Colback on the podcast, the fact no time frame has been conceded means it could be anything. Ligament damage would be the end of his season.

I was saying to my son yesterday if we get beaten by Portsmouth on Saturday it really will destroy any confidence we have left It will be absolute rock bottom we will probably be bottom of the table by the end of the day too There is so much riding on that game now Just to get things back on track we need a win,we really do

To keep playing friendlies with lots of first team players in the break shows how desperate Marti is for them to pick up what he wants them to do.
But clearly something just isn't clicking or working right now.
What is interesting (in a good or bad way, I am not sure which) is that Marti made lots of 'like-for-like' changes. Whether that confirmed his thinking regarding some players and perhaps added some comfort - we shall see! I am interested to hear how Morgan did alongside Field. Does anyone know?
