The January transfer market is inflated and full of panic.
We don't really need anybody drastically, we still have a bloated squad. Yes we'd all love a great new striker but it can't take us anywhere now so why pay the inflated prices?
Our season will be pretty much over by March so we are better just waiting for the summer then we can see where we are with the out of contract players we have and build when we have time to plan.
The focus has been on getting players out and rightly so.
Why can't we just loan a premier league defender And young up and coming striker Agree we don't and won't get anyone due to FairPlay rules etc and were not exactly a lucrative club to go to at the moment

We probably could go and loan a premier league defender or striker but why do we need to? Are we thinking we can still get in the play-offs?
All it will do is reduce the game time for the likes of Oteh, Eze, Furlong etc when the rest of this season is the perfect opportunity to give them a chance when we won't have much riding on games from March to May the way the season is panning out.
Plus loaning players from Premier League teams is extremely expensive. I saw Harry Redknapp in the summer say a club wanted a million or so fee and double their wages whilst on loan. We don't need to pay out that money to maybe finish 13th rather than 16th.
We need some more goals and we can still get sucked into a relegation battle Not high profile just a promising youngster would do There is plenty of raw talent out there
Interesting opinions northwesthoop & @singlespeed! Tricky one for the club: Get a striker on loan and hope he makes a difference, whilst denying valuable experience to Smyth, Eze & Oteh; or risk a relegation battle by fielding an inexperienced strike force to enable them to get the necessary experience. Unless there is a bargain or super-loan out there I think I would go with the latter (just). I wonder what the club (and Ollie in particular) think?
