He goes into the epic failure pile along with so many others. He cost anything around £1 million to purchase depending where you read and has hardly played. Add on his wages and whatever it has cost to terminate his contract and he has been another expensive flop.
Does mutual consent mean that he has been paid off? Or does it mean that he knows he wont get in the team so if we cancel the contract he can get better wages and signing on fee.
Disappointing because of the cost and the high hopes. He looked like a good signing at the time. But it’s obviously right to cut our losses - he wasn’t near the first team and there were no offers coming.
It means we come to an arrangement over the balance of their contract. A decent agent will get you a good deal. And then you will also get signing on fee from next club. The club would obviously not pay the full balance of contract. But an agreement that suits both parties. I worry about the transfers we have done over past few years. We say that they are ideal for QPR then we either loan them or ditch them. Brings in doubts about managers choices and DOF.
How many were brought in by Olly, not many at all I would guess. I am guessing a lot of those released were recommendations by scouts? Would be interesting to find out how our scouting / recommnedation network works.

The signings the summer of 2016 under JFH was largely shocking looking back - or at least few have worked out.
Borysiuk gone Ngbakoto gone Sylla out of favour Cousins hit and miss/injury prone Joel Lynch carthorse
Only Wszolek and Bidwell have been decent and even Wszolek isn't exactly in favour right now. And would you find any other teams in the league clamouring to get either of them if they were available? Unlikely.
Holloway's signings have fared a bit better - Freeman and Smith are regulars, Baptiste has done OK when called upon, Smyth and Bright are with the future in mind.
His loan signings of Lua Lua and Morrison were his worst moves but less costly to the club.
Goss remains a work in progress. Wheeler is perhaps one that hasn't worked out but he could still prove to be a good player.
