There are some proposals for the future of the prediction competition underneath the table below. Please do take a look.
Anyway it was a dreadful result for QPR to slip to a 2-0 defeat to Bristol City but let's see how the result impacted the prediction competition...
Kudos to Ghost who got the 2-0 score bang on
qprallan did superbly to get Diedhiou as first scorer as he had been out injured for 3 months!
Ghost and qprallan also both got the 31-45 first goal time along with QPRBex, Rosco Bosco, MCM Hoop and ranger-boy
Only ashqpr went for a Norwich win in the Bonus Match for a single point
I made an error in the Goal Difference match - I chose Cardiff V Bolton as the match was listed on the BBC when I chose the fixtures, without realising it was prior to Cardiff winning their FA Cup Replay and their league match was subsequently postponed. So apologies and it just means that category was void this week.
QPRBex is still at the top and 11 points clear but it has all changed from 2nd downwards and we now have 6 players split by just 4 points as Ghost, who scored this week with 9 points, has joined the party and despite being 7th is only 4 points from 2nd.
It is Rosco Bosco who climbs to second with MCM Hoop up to 3rd - both have hit triple figures and Rosco is only ahead on goal difference. e17hoop and zantor who were in the medal places last week slip all the way down to 5th and 6th respectively. zantor was the form player but has forgotten to enter in the past 2 rounds sadly.
qprallan was the top scorer this week with 12 and is up from 13th to 9th and can't be discounted from the fight for the medals being just 9 points behind.
The bottom 3 all failed to score and it means the safety line is now 8 points away from QPRsmith, 10 from pamment8 and 13 from minxymartin
Here is the table after 29 matches:
New League Proposals
Also next season we are considering having promotion and relegation included in the game.
The season would be split into 3 phases using the 46 games (games 1 to 15, 16 to 30 and 31-46) - subject to change.
The top 10 players at the end of this current season would start in Division 1 with remaining players and new players in Division 2. After 15 matches next season the bottom 3 from Division 1 go down, the top 3 from Division 2 come up. This would be the same process at the end of each phase and the points reset for the next phase.
Those in Division 1 for the final phase would be fighting for the title for that season.
Those in Division 2 for the final phase would be fighting to avoid the wooden spoons (bottom 3) or to try and finish in the top 3 to start the next season in Division 1
It would mean there will always be something to play for, even the top players would need to keep performing to avoid a poor phase and risk relegation. If you have a poor phase, the next one gives a chance for promotion or trying to stay in the top Division etc.
Prediction Cups
We will also be running Prediction Cups. There will be a trial before the end of the season and then a World Cup Prediction Competition.
Next season the intention would be to do a Prediction Cup for the League Cup and FA Cup. These would be predicting the QPR matches in each cup until we go out then based on the big matches in each round thereafter.
The format would be as follows:
Round 1: Everybody enters (open to anybody) but only the top 16 go through to Round 2.
Round 2: 16 players drawn into 8 matches.
round 3: 8 players drawn into 4 matches
Round 4: 4 players into 2 matches
Round 5 - final
