Just watching Hamilton v rangers The standard is terrible I've seen better non league football Goss not exactly being tested at this level in my opinion
The lad has really settled there already The fans seem to love him and want him to sign for them on a permanent basis Yes the standard isn't our level, but shows if you give a player some game time what he can achieve Good luck to him I personally think rangers is a good fit for him and he may want to stay there too
He cost us £500k on a 3year deal. So we could sell him to Rangers for £2 million plus a 10% sell on clause. Then use the money to negotiate pay increases for those we want to keep. We have plenty out of contract come the summer.
Goss is running the show at Rangers however, this is apparently what he was told by Ollie.
"When I was at QPR I was told I wouldn’t fit into the way the manager wanted to set up the midfield and the way we were playing at the time,” Goss told Sky Sports News.
If the lad is happy there Let him go there,he seems to feel at home at rangers Holloway doesn't deserve to keep him if he doesn't want to give him a chance in our team
Watched that game he loooked lost at times, maybe occasion got to him, such a big game in that neck of the woods The only game near championship standard is the Celtic Derby match and he's not up to that yet But to be fair he's doing ok and he's gained some good experience which might help us in the end
Goss didn't have a great game against Celtic but for a young player who has played less than 20 first team games it was a great learning experience. Long term it has got to be good for QPR who should benifit from the game time and the experience he is getting playing in Scotland. Hopefully the match against Celtic is the making of him and he learns from the mistakes he made.
Interesting comments. I hope the lad does well in his time at Rangers, and no harm to him - but he was poor yesterday (the second worst player on the pitch after Celtic's Boyata, who was playing his first match after some weeks out). The pace and combative nature of the game found him out. He can certainly ping/strike a ball, and he is best when he has plenty of time to do so, which against the likes of the lower-level SPL teams he will get. But against Celtic, and to a lesser extent Aberdeen, you see why he won't get into a Championship team - lack of time and space, plus insufficient tackling ability. And why his learning may be limited - he won't learn too much against the likes of Partick, Dundee, Hamilton, etc. because he won't be challenged.
Also, while saying that the general standard of mid/lower level SPL teams is league one level, that is not the case for all teams. The SPL is like most 'second tier' European leagues - e.g. Holland, Portugal, Belgium, etc, with 3 levels within that division - one, perhaps two, teams who would be mid-level EPL teams, a handful more who would make the Championship, and the rest. I see all the SPL matches every week. Celtic are medium EPL standard - sure, nowhere near the likes of Man City or Utd, etc.; but better than quite a few in the bottom half of the table. Dembele, Brown, Tierney, Armstrong, McGregor, Roberts are all EPL standard. That's how they went unbeaten for 69 games; and how despite playing not particularly well yesterday and with 10 players they still beat their nearest rivals.

You know more than us Rosco Bosco about Scottish football. I think from the outside most fans see how poorly Celtic have done in Europe and assume they would struggle to even get promoted from the Championship.
When you also look at the money spent by the likes of Wolves and Villa in the Championship I don't think Celtic can even compete with that spending power.
There has been a real fall from grace of Scottish football in the past decade or so. The money in the English game has gone to another level and Celtic have had a 1 team league for the past few years so they probably haven't needed as good as squad as they perhaps had in the past.
The Celtic team that contained Larsson, Hartson and Sutton up front, Petrov in midfield etc around 2004 would have probably done very well in the Premier League at the time. The current one is very hard to judge as when they do come up against strong European opposition they tend to do poorly.
I'd love to see Celtic and Rangers in the English league to be honest. Certainly an interesting topic anyway!
Celtic would do well in the championship and probably as good as a team like villa at the moment I would see them as a yo yo team like West Brom and Newcastle if they were in the premier league I watch a bit of Scottish footie and teams like hearts look pretty good with lots of young players However some grounds look like my local park like Partick thistle
I wouldn't disagree with rosco bosco as he's the main man out there and knows his stuff
Must admit you surprised me too Rosco Bosco in stating that Celtic are the equivalent of a mid-EPL side. A bit like NorthWest I think, I had presumed that Celtic nowadays would more likely sit around the bottom of the EPL. Not sure what payments are received for playing in the SPL either -is it less than an EPL side would get or the same? Finally, does your ranking for Celtic also apply for Rangers and Aberdeen too?
