The live stream kept being interrupted but I did get to see much of the play. Baptiste & Bidwell did very well at the back, but yet again Furlong seemed to be caught out with the first goal. In midfield it was obvious that neither Eze or Osayi-Samuel were at their best against the predicted (well by me) physicality of PNE. Scowen & Wszolek were certainly missed. As usual, Matt Smith was constantly fouled and nothing done, but if he even breathed heavily near a defender he was penalised! The input of Smyth did make a difference, but not so sure Sylla was preferable to Smith. The biggest omission though was a decent referee! What we saw was poor decision-making coupled with no standard when judging fouls - very poor official today and expect Ollie to go beserk!
When KAYKAY made a mistake he was sent out on loan and blamed for the loss. FURLONG seems to go unscathed when it comes to mistakes.
Furlong is certainly making a lot of positional mistakes, particularly when balls are fed across the goal area, and he needs to get this sorted! Onuoha seems aware of his limitations and does what he can to compensate, but Baptiste was unable to do so yesterday (no criticism of him). Lot still to do!
