Hoops & Dreams Prediction Cup Final - The Results

CutePR and ranger-boy faced off in the final of our inaugural trial cup and it proved to be a very close run thing.
Neither player got a first scorer or an exact scoreline so immediately points were everything else they could get correct was precious!
In Matches 1 and 2 they cancelled each other out by both picking up 5 points total.
In Match 3 CutePR called the West Ham win but ranger-boy nailed the goal time. All square still.
In Match 4 CutePR pulled clear by predicting the Arsenal win. Both got the goal time but with ranger-boy predicting a Huddersfield win cutepr moved 3 points clear.
In Match 5 all that was left to predict was the match itself and ranger-boy clawed back the 3 points going for a Palace win whereas Cutepr went for a draw.
Incredible, after 5 matches (14 elements to predict) it was level with both players scoring 14 points.
It went down to the bookings as a goal difference....
CutePR had gone for 15, ranger-boy 10.
Match 1 had 3
Match 2 had 4
Match 3 had 1
Match 4 had 1
Match 5 had 5
Total.... 14.... CutePR was 1 away, ranger-boy was 4 away and so after a dramatic finish CutePR is the first ever prediction cup champion!
Well done CutePR! Commiserations to the very unlucky ranger-boy. The awards are in the next post.
Just to add that on cumulative goal difference across the whole cup ranger-boy had 29, CutePR 27 so CutePR wins on that too.
Thank you to everybody who has taken part, it has proved a great success and helped me to make sure the format works ahead of a World Cup Prediction Cup (which will be up ready in the next week) and then a League Cup and FA Cup based prediction cup each season going forward.
