Round 2

The remaining 12 players have been paired up for Round 2 using the above Round 1 table. Position 1 plays 12, 2 plays 11, 3 plays 10, 4 plays 9 and so on illustrating no fixing of the draw and the higher placed players benefit by playing a lower ranked player so to speak.

Entering Round 2

This round is based on 4 last 16 World Cup ties that will be played on Monday and Tuesday

The remaining 12 players will make predictions on all 4 games with less emphasis on each match, the priority being the England game. There are 4 things to predict in Match 1 down to 1 thing to predict in Match 4.

There are 16 points on offer from Match 1, 15 from Match 2, 9 from Match 3 and 6 from Match 4. 46 points maximum.

You get 6 points for the correct score, 3 points for a correct result in all 4 games. The First scorer in Matches 1 and 2 is worth 6 points. The goal time is worth 3 points in Matches 1 to 3. In Match 1 you also predict which team you think will score first, this is worth 1 bonus point.

There is also again a total bookings to guess from these 4 games. This will be used as a 'goal difference'. If the goal difference in this round is tied I will count back to the Goal Difference from Round 1.

The deadline for entries is midday on MONDAY 02 JULY 2018 so you all have nearly 4 days to enter. Remember the coming rounds will come thick and fast over the next fortnight or so.

Round 3 (Quarter Finals), which will run based on the actual World Cup Quarter Finals, will be the 6 winners of the head to heads drawn into 2 groups of 3 players.

The winners of Ties 1, 3 and 5 will be in Group A, the winners of ties 2, 4 and 6 will be in Group B for the Quarter Finals so the draw is already set.

1 player will be eliminated from each group in the next round with the top 2 in each group going through to the semi finals.

The score solely in Round 2 will be used to determine who wins each battle and goes through to the Quarter Finals.

No it is a good question, the score used will be the final score after any extra time.
Penalty shoot outs do not influence anything.

So you can go for draws if you think it could still be level after 120 minutes. That will be the result used.

For example: If somebody picks England to win 2-1 and they win on penalties after a 1-1 draw that would get no points. Somebody who went for 1-1 would be correct and get all 6 points.

Another example if somebody goes for 1-1 and it is 1-1 after 90 minutes but 2-1 after extra time that would get no points as the end result was a win not a draw.

In short, extra time counts, penalty shoot outs do not.
