I can guarantee one thing We ain't gonna win the league with that team We need another good central defender a good experienced striker or a kid with something to prove like hugill from the hammers We're weak in most areas and the teams that have come up and gone down will make our league a lot harder McClaren told our board he could work with the kids we got that's why they took him on He will be gone after 10 games and were be in the brown stuff for sure

As ever it is fine margins... I agree the current squad is a bit short and reliant on kids going from 'players with potential' to 'key players' but if you add Sainsbury to the defence that is a massive boost and makes the squad look a lot better.
If we were able to add Hugill to the front line too then we've gone from a squad that looks a bit short in a few areas to a very good looking squad.
It appears to me that rather than just adding numbers to the squad the club are trying to add players who really improve the starting 11.
I fancy that a new signing will end up as captain.
If only the club could have a look at the scout report from stoatey ! That Shankland sounds worth a punt. I always feel that if somebody has that knack of scoring quite so many goals surely they can keep scoring at a higher level (especially as the service improves too). A bit like Vardy and Austin.
I think we have missed a real gem. Last season Lawrence Shankland finished with 29 goals from 33 games and this season he has been on fire. He has scored 9 goals in 5 matches. He is just 23yo and has scored goals for every club he has been with and fits perfectly with the criteria of player we are supposed to be signing. He looks a born goal scorer that we could have got cheaply but have now missed. Fully expect him to be snapped up by one of our rivals in the January window.

So in the last week we have added Rangel, Hemed and Wells to the ranks
That really only leaves the centre back as the last position that needs filling.
Although Scowen, Luongo and Freeman have been below par so far they are still key players if they start performing. Having Hemed and Wells ahead of them may help that too.
I wouldn't be against us bringing in a winger either but a central defender remains the priority.
I agree a central defender is priorty I hope the new additions give our current squad a good kick up the backside and they start to realise that it's because most of them are underperforming that we've needed to hit the loan market
