Round 2 Results:

Let's see who has made it through to the Quarter Finals!

kensalr was the only player who went for a draw against Columbia, everybody else went for an England win prior to penalties

However kensalr was one of only 4 players who didn't get Kane as first scorer. pamment8, LurkR and MCM Hoop were the others and only one of that group survive as a result.

Ghost got the first goal time of just after half time.

In the other matches points were at a premium but crucial points were gained by qprallan and Ghost who got Brazil's 2-0 win exact

Rosco Bosco and kingfisher got Sweden's 1-0 win bang on, with kingfisher also getting the tough to call 61-75 first goal time in that game.

kingfisher was the highest scorer of the second round with 22 points more than enough to see off LurkR who was the joint lowest scorer with 7.

The two closest matches involved stoatey versus qprallan and Rosco Bosco up against ranger-boy . qprallan and Rosco both go through by just 3 points with stoatey and ranger-boy unlucky to go out with very solid scores.

In the lowest scoring match pamment8 knocks out MCM Hoop . Half of the players exiting at this stage would have beaten pamment8 had they met but that is the nature of cup football!

The top scorer from Round 1 Ghost knocks out the champion of our trial cup CutePR whilst QPRsmith saw off kensalr in the final tie.

None of the matches went down to goal difference but there were 19 bookings.

Quarter Finals

Here is how the Quarter Finals will shape up then... as was already specified before Round 2 the winners of Ties 1, 3 and 5 will be in Group A, the winners of ties 2, 4 and 6 will be in Group B for the Quarter Finals.

The Top 2 from each group will go through to form the Semi Finals. Only 1 player will drop out from each group in these Quarter Finals.

In the semi finals Position 1 from Group A will play Position 2 from Group B and likewise Position 1 from Group B will play Position 2 from Group A.

Entering the Quarter Finals:

This round is based on the 4 World Cup Quarter Finals.

The remaining 6 players will make predictions on all 4 games with the main focus on the England game. However the difference to the previous round is there is a first goalscorer prediction for all 4 games.

There are 16 points on offer from Match 1, 15 from Match 2, 15 from Match 3 and 12 from Match 4. 58 points maximum.

You get 6 points for the correct score, 3 points for a correct result in all 4 games. The First scorer is worth 6 points. The goal time is worth 3 points in Matches 1 to 3. In Match 1 you also predict which team you think will score first, this is worth 1 bonus point.

There is also again a total bookings to guess from these 4 games. This will be used to determine 'goal difference'.

The deadline for entries is 2pm this Friday, 6 July, so you only have 48 hours to enter!
