World Cup 2018 Prediction Cup - Semi Finals

Here is a reminder of how to the 2 groups shaped up for the Quarter Finals:

So here we go...


QPRsmith got 2-0 to England exact which was a great call. On the other hand qprallan went for a Sweden win. Was that costly?

kingfisher gets the prediction of the tournament so far after calling Maguire as first scorer with his first international goal! Should have put some money on it!

pamment8 got the Belgium 2-1 win correct, everybody else went for Brazil so that gave pamment a real boost.

QPRsmith went for 2-0 to France, qprallan and Rosco Bosco got the 31-45 goal time in that game

Only qprallan went for a Russia/Croatia draw for a bonus 3 points... but were they enough to claw back the lost points from above...

No... In Group B qprallan bows out, scoring only 9 points with QPRsmith and pamment8 both on 13 points. QPRsmith takes first place on goal difference. There were 16 bookings in the 4 games and QPRsmith's prediction of 12 was closer than pamment8's 8.

kingfisher was clear winner in Group A leaving Rosco Bosco and Ghost to fight it out for second place. They both only scored 7 points so it came down to goal difference and Rosco Bosco was closer by 2.

qprallan would have made it through from the other group but that is the nature of cup football! Ghost was the highest scorer of the competition overall but 1 poor round and you are out!

Semi Finals

As stated before the Quarter Finals Position 1 from Group A will play Position 2 from Group B and likewise Position 1 from Group B will play Position 2 from Group A

That gives us this semi final line up:

Entering the Semi Final:

This round is based on the 2 World Cup Semi Finals.

The remaining 4 players will make full predictions on both games.

There are 16 points on offer from both matches; 32 in total.

You get 6 points for the correct score, 3 points for a correct result. The First scorer is worth 6 points. The goal time is worth 3 points you also predict which team you think will score first, this is worth 1 bonus point.

There is also again a total bookings to guess from both games. This will be used to determine 'goal difference' (or shall we call it a penalty shoot out!)

The deadline for entries is 6pm on Tuesday 10 July, so you less than 48 hours to enter!
