The squad numbers for 18/19 have been announced today:

Points of note:

Ingram is given the Number 1 jersey
Lynch from his own choice moves from 6 to 33 with Goss taking over Number 6 (previously 19). An odd one!
Leistner chooses No. 37 which he wore at his last club
Eze given Number 10
Wszolek moves from 22 to 23
Numbers 5, 12, 16 and 22 are vacant
Smyth moves from 37 to 38 which is a strange choice when the above numbers are free
Osayi-Samuel goes from 34 to 20, Wheeler from 36 to 25

In this day and age were players are wearing numbers in the 70s 80s and 90s can year read much into squad numbers? There is only one shirt that is iconic and means something to me and that's the number 10, whoever wears that needs to be a player, a character and have the ability to get us off our seats. Is Eze that player? I hope so

I thought Eze taking the #10 shirt was a definitive statement by him: I will be something special. I think he may well be too!
