Great news, his original deal was due to expire at the end of the season.

It has made me look into the contracts we have expiring at the end of this season and it is a rather alarmingly long list containing some key names:

Bidwell
Lynch
Hall
Baptiste
Hamalainen
Wszolek
Shodipo
Cousins
Eze
Sylla
Washington
Smyth

Wszolek and Eze have clauses for another year reportedly.

So we need to hope for a lot more announcements like the Furlong one is coming weeks!

At this stage I think the players who deserve contract extensions are;

Wszolek
Cousins
Eze
Smyth

If Hall can get some games under his belt and proves his fitness and form then I would add him to my list but the others are going to need some really good performances to put them in with a chance of having renewed contracts

Think we need another left-footed CB before we consider not extending Lynch's contract.... I might also bend to agree that Hamalainen is extended as he could be needed (knowing our luck with Back 4 injuries)! Otherwise agree with your selection.
