7 goals in 9 games is not what we were hoping for! initially we all thought Wells & Hemed needed to get match-fit and become more clinical in front of goal, but I am starting to wonder whether our supply of passes to them is below average and that is the problem...

The issue for me is McClaren because rather than play our key man in his favoured position he would rather stick him out in a wide spot where he is not as effective as when he plays in a central role. For me , Eze is our most creative player plus our biggest goal threat (he has scored 3 of our 7 goals) and as such the team should be built around him. Worryingly for me McClaren cant seem to see this and persists with playing his 2 loan signings up front and as was proved against Norwich these tactics were all wrong and then he left it too late before changing things.
QPR after 9 games last season had already scored 12 goals (Smith 3, Mackie 3, Washington 2, Sylla 1, Luongo 1, Freeman 1 and Wheeler 1), had conceeded12 goals and had accumulated 12 points. This season we have scored 7, conceded 15 and have 10 points.
More improvement in our mini run has seen these updates seem surprisingly positive!
APPEARANCES
Saturdays loss to Norwich saw Lumley overtake Ingram as our most used keeper this season, and has only conceded 2 goals in that time! We still have 5 players who are on 100% league start totals for this season whilst Smith once again is a player to come off the bench, with 7 appearances so far this season.
GOALSCORERS
Freeman and Luongo opening their accounts for the season has seen this chart look a bit better with more players chipping in, whilst Eze is continuing his fine form with 3 goals so far.
GOAL TIMES
From this table we can see that we've only scored once in the second half of matches this season, which was Eze scoring at Bolton! We are yet to score or concede a goal in the opening 15 minutes of matches this season and have only conceded 3 times in the first half, and 12 times in the second half (however 6 of those did come in one match so makes this sound worse than it looks).
TIME OF FIRST GOAL
Bolton and Millwall saw the first goal come midway through the first half of our matches to see this become the most popular time for the opener to be scored this season, whilst the goal conceded to Norwich came midway through the second half as the latest an opening goal has been scored this season.
BOOKINGS
Apart from Scowen, nobody has been booked more than once so far this season. However 3 more names have been added with Leistner, Freeman and Eze all seeing yellow against Millwall.
MATCH OUTCOMES
Even though we've still lost the majority of games this season, the red section is getting smaller and smaller with every update and that can only show signs of improvement. Two wins and one loss in the last 3 games has seen us move on to 3 wins (2 at home) and 5 losses (3 at home). We stay on one draw so far this season.

Agree but would keep both front me and play Eze in the 'hole' behind them (which means getting midfield width via the FBs or a winger)!

Interesting stat that indicates a scoring problem (the annual thrashing last season was not until November so that will help to equal out the goals conceded).

Post Swansea:
QPR drop 3 places to 19th with the defeat to Swansea, our second league defeat in a row without scoring.
Birmingham and Ipswich sharing two goals each in their match yesterday means QPR are the lowest scorers in the league again, with 7 from 10.
We are still somehow 4 points above the drop zone as the league remains very bunched up - 1st to 14th are split by just 5 points whilst Villa in 15th are only 2 points off the play off places. Crazy.
A bit of a gap has formed though between the top 15 and the rest with Birmingham in 16th unable to move up a place even if they win their next game. QPR are definitely part of that bottom group of 9 teams in danger this season.
A first defeat has been tasted by Cameron whilst Leistner loses his record of appearing in every match so far.
Hall appeared in the league for the first time this season.
The point of creating these stats was to try and see if they showed who was helping the team and who wasn't.... it appears so far that Baptiste is a bad omen. We were struggling when he played early in the season and his reappearance in the last 2 league games has seen us return to losing ways. He has lost in all 4 league appearances.
The stats also really do show how our form was very bad, good and now very bad again. Can we turn it around with 2 matches ahead this week before another international break?
