If we'd To avoid relegation this is the sort of match we needed to win,if we can beat them at our gaff that 6 points in the bag, they were woeful and I didn't expect that as Paul clement is not a bad manager on paper Away form is better with McClaren strangely enough apart from West Brom Pleased with the result or is it me it just felt a bit flat, maybe it's just me
I think even clement said it was a poor game and not a good standard We got lucky too they lost their top scorer in the warm up And the goal was a bit fortunate
I have just watched the game again and although Reading were poor I thought we did well and should have scored more than just one scrappy goal. A few observations that you may or may not agree with:
* When we started the game it appeared as though we set up in a 4-4-1-1 system and then moved to a 4-2-3-1 system. Good to see McClaren has been reading the advice offered by the Hoops & Dreams contributers and ditched his 4-4-2 style.
* Eze is so much better when he plays in that number 10 position just behind our front man.
* When Lynch plays alongside Leistner he looks a lot more comfortable than he ever has in a QPR shirt.
* Cameron still looks off the pace and for me he was our poorest player last night.
* We created some good chances but wasted too many of them.
* If we are to build on this result and build momentum should we stick with the same XI against Derby or as I expect will McClaren change the team?
* However bad Reading were and even though we weren't great its all about the winning, isnt it?

Absolutely agree, McClaren would be a fool to change from the current set up. Personnel can change match to match but the shape should not!

He is not even worth playing if we are going to out him out wide. McClaren must see that now!

Lynch was probably man of the match last night but he still got rolled when they hit the post. He simply cannot get through 90 minutes without a moment of jeopardy. Much improved though

He broke up the play well but he is poor on the ball, he gave it away more than he found a team mate. Probably due to playing for Stoke these past few years!
* We created some good chances but wasted too many of them.
Wells should have done a lot better when he was through on goal in the first half, his body shape gave it away where he was going to put it. That was the only clear chance we had. Wells really needs to get the monkey off his back then I fancy he could go on a scoring run. He hasn't scored a competitive goal now for 18 months.

It certainly is but there was an element last night that had we not scored a scruffy winner and it ended 0-0 the reaction from fans would have been very different. Very fine margins as ever in football!
