Shodipo has signed a new deal; a 1 year extension to his deal that was due to expire in June.
He will be 22 by the start of next season so it really is make or break time for him.
3 appearances in 2 years for QPR isn't really promising.
He has to get a run of games and make his mark, then he has no excuses.
Hopefully, if Shodipo can get an injury free season he can produce some of the magic he has promised. Like a lot of players who have suffered from injuries he needs some game time and a bit of confidence boosting. The club have shown him some support by extending his contract and he now has an opportunity to show the club and the fans just what he can do.
Agree Shodipo has promise. When he first broke through under JFH he looked good with a simple game of just taking on his man and trying to get crosses in, using his pace to push us on to teams. Similar to BOS in some ways. Both need to work on their final ball and finishing on the summer and hopefully we'll have two good, pacey wingers in the side next season.
Sheffield Wednesday have released Almen Abdi, George Boyd, Gary Hooper, David Jones, Marco Matias and Daniel Pudil.
Boyd and Hooper could be worth a look? Given our predicament and no doubt our inability to pay fees this is the market we need to be on top of so surely somebody like Hooper couldn't do much worse than Wells and Hemed if given a run in the team?
Im not sure we are looking to sign any permanent transfers because when interviewed by Jim White on Sky, Warburton said, we have to 'use the loan market wisely'.
Maybe Im reading too much into his comments because he also said the obvious about 'using the budget wisely'. You have to laugh about somebody at QPR saying use the budget wisely, we must be the only club that has 5 managers (possibly 6) still on its payroll (Warburton, Eustace, McClaren, Holloway and Ramsey). Admittedly Eustace was only in a temporary role and Ramsey is now working with the youth team but I see we are about to sign Warburton's temporary replacement for the period when he gets the boot by also appointing Neil Banfield.
We probably need to sell Freeman to fund our wage bill for Managers, Assistants and Coaching staff!
Maybe when interviewed was asked Can you accept you have to make do with what you got and sell your best players,if yes you got the job He was out of work he isn’t going to say no to a nice 2 year contract I want him to do well and get us playing better footie but he’s inherited a hell of a lot of crap and average players

singlespeed, I think you could have started a whole new thread. What questions were asked at the Warburton interview and did he understand them?
It's possible that when asked about Mission Impossible and Bargain Hunt that Warburton thought he was getting a role in films or tv!
Darren Moore was taking the job Until told about funds then he walked away Who can blame him Warburton was chosen purely on what he did at Brentford and if he manages to do it with us then our board have hit the jackpot He is a good manager but I think he will struggle personally due to lack of funds and other limitations

Yes considering Warburton managed Bidwell at Brentford it shows how much money he must have been on for us not to keep him.
It is no surprise to me to see them all leave. They were all earning too much for not enough performance. They were all average at best.
I'm personally excited by the prospect of a new squad and lets see where we end up. The idea of the same players putting in the same below par performances and ending up 19th again was about as exciting as dental surgery.
It will be interesting to see where those players end up. I can see Cousins going back to Charlton. Bidwell will probably go to a mid table championship team willing to pay him his inflated wages. Lynch I wouldn't even like to guess but whoever it is has my deepest sympathy in advance!

Whilst I can see Bidwell remaining in the Championship it might have to be on a reduced wage. FFP is a challenge for every club and with so many players being released I think that the clubs will be able to dictate on what they pay.
They must of been the big earners Glad Rangel been offered a new deal though I feel your sadness northwest at lynch going,I really do Only good thing is there will be some good released players and ones on free transfers knocking about from other clubs
Sad to see Bidwell and Wszolek go. They may not have been great players but I think they were solid.
Lets remember we have been replacing players for the last 5 seasons with every new manager coming in wanting his own players but most have been no better than the ones that we have released.
Most people were happy when we got ride off Caulker and Dunne. But we replaced them with Lynch and Hall.
With our limited finances we are not going to buy top players. and the players that we will be after will have other clubs chasing them as well.
Give our younger players a chance and don't sell to the first decent bid that comes along.
I hope that they are all the players we plan to release and that we can keep hold of Freeman Louongo and Liestner
