Here are the results from the Semi Finals of our League Cup knockout prediction cup for 2018/19:
With the Leicester match being postponed amendments were needed for us to use all 4 games.
qprallan and qprsmith both edited their predictions in time so their tie is based on all 4 games.
QPRBex was not back online to edit which is understandable and just means the QPRBex Vs MaxQPR match up was based on 3 matches only (1, 3 and 4)
QPRsmith got a cracking call of the Spurs 3-1 away win in Match 1. Nobody got either of the first goal scorers.
MaxQPR got the 16-30 first goal time in the Spurs match. qprallan got the early goal time in the Chelsea/Derby tie whilst QPRBex got the Boro first goal time of just before half time.
Nobody scored anything from Match 4 as Burton won so we ended up with 2 incredibly close ties...
QPRBex Vs MaxQPR came down to 1 point and it sees QPRBex through 7 points to 6. MaxQPR may be regretting putting West Ham to score first as the extra point that would have offered would have put him through on goal difference. MaxQPR is losing out on the finest of margins at the moment in the prediction competitions!
QPRsmith Vs qprallan was a higher scoring affair and ended up tied 13 all. It therefore went down to goal difference... there were only 3 bookings in all 4 matches, QPRsmith went for 9, qprallan went for 7 and thus was closer and is through to the final to face QPRBex.
Here is how the Semi Finals ended up:
THE FINAL
So after 4 rounds only 2 players are still in with a chance of getting 10 bonus points for the QPR Prediction League:
League Cup Prediction Cup 18/19 Final: qprallan Vs QPRBex
The points all reset to zero. Round 1-4 scores and previous GD only come into play if there are any further ties.
The Final will be based on Round 5 (Quarter Finals) of the League Cup itself and will be available to enter following the draw but the ties do not take place until the middle of December so there is quite a wait!
The winner will have a choice after the final if the 10 bonus points are applied to their current Phase 2 or next Phase 3 score in the QPR Prediction League. The winner of the FA Cup Prediction Cup later in the season will have the 10 bonus points applied in Phase 3.
