If he stayed how many points do you think we'd be on now Would he of still been in a job I think we'd of been 3 wins short of what we are now Our away form would of been worse too But the league this year is really poor maybe even Ollie would of had us in a similar position right now
Holloway had Smith and Washington. McClaren has Wells and Hemed.
Holloway didn't have Cameron either.
When McClaren had the same players we lost 4 in a row.
McClaren has done well to get more out of players like Lynch for sure and the away form is unquestionably better, but even McClaren points to the loan signings in his interviews for making the difference.
So who knows, but it isn't just McClaren Vs Holloway the players are a factor
That's a good point Ollie didn't have players like wells and Cameron Players are giving 110% corny as it sounds The league is really close and that shows how poor the league is this season It's a question for the players how does the training techniques compare etc
I have been wondering since McLaren has been on this good run is he really that good or just lucky or maybe a bit of both
The players that have come in certainly have made a big difference: But
Rangle has made no secret that he did not want to leave Swansea so if he had stayed at Swansea would have Mclaren coached KaKay to the level that Rangle has been playing at ?
Cameron I though was bought in to play at center back where we lack cover and not defensive midfield where we had at least 5 players that could cover that position. Scowen Coussins Manning Hall and at a push Luongo. Cameron started playing there to get match fit but has made the potion his own.
Wells and Hamed started to play together as a partnership but were not that great playing together but when Hamed was rested and Eze moved inside and Paval played out wide the team improved in both shape and performance. this change was suggested by both me and kingfisher before it happened.
I think that Mclaren has made a difference in the style we play and now most people are happy that we made the change but, has Mclaren improved us still remains to be seen as at the end of the season we will lose most of our best players and then his work will be to maintain the improvement with new players.
With Holloway we would still be playing the same style but would have had one more year to improve the performances.
Though call to say which one would have succeeded in the long run.

You are right to point out that the change in formation has made a huge difference kensalr and also that we both suggested before McClaren adopted it! Of course the other dramatic improvement is the additions at the back and front of the squad. We are especially good now at the back, and that generates confidence throughout the team, meaning players can be more adventurous going forward - especially Eze, Pavel and Freeman.

The was definitely an element of luck in how McClaren came to use the 4-2-3-1 formation.
He had been using 4-4-2 for a while to accommodate Hemed AND Wells but when Hemed had to miss the Millwall match as he was fasting we were superb in the 4-2-3-1 and he has only played 1 striker since.
We were due a bit of luck And McClaren is no genius but he's got a team that we're battered 7-1 turn into a decent side that have improved in all areas and play some decent football At this moment in time it's a great time to be a QPR fan and at the start of the season it wasn't Take the rough with the smooth as they say,the person who deserves most credit,is whoever made the decision to bring in players like wells and Rangel and Cameron I'll be honest I'd never even heard of before I will probably want McClaren out at some point again but we're halfway to our target to avoid relegation first of all Now let's win a FA cup 3rd round game and a Boxing Day game for a change too
I have no problems with a lucky manager, But Mclaren is a good manager as well he has recognized that his preferred system was not working as well as the current system and has continued to play it and not stubbornly gone back to his preferred system.
As I have said before we need to have a mobile playing system and adapt to other teams strength and weakness in the past we have not had a plan B hopefully Mclaren can develop a plan B and even a plan C
Look at the players OLLIE did sign Wheeler Goss neither have done anything here. His tactics were awful most of the time. His tinkering was ridiculous. We are better off now I would say. Players seem happier and more keen to play for the badge.
Like many on here, I wouldn't have swapped Ollie for McClaren and after 4 games we all thought it was a complete disaster. But we have to give the man credit and also the management team that organised the 4 late signings. 26 points from 13 games is a fantastic performance.

I am not sure either of these where Ollies choice?. I think they came in under LF. But either way, you are right neither have progressed as we would have hoped.

What are the names of those other players who have done nothing since Ollie signed them. Oh, I remember they are called Freeman and Scowen!

We have discussed this before and nothing has changed: The EDS fixtures do not stretch or educate enough the players who have talent, so loans have to be made.
