Adel was great when he wanted to play, but for me he is the past and we have to look to the future and continue to develop our younger players like Eze, Smyth and BOS. I would much prefer to see a youngster getting a run in the team rather than bringing back a player who is best remembered for his performances in 2010/11.
I will never forget that wonder strike against Preston in October 2009 tho. What a goal that was!
It’s a tough one but I personally wouldn’t go near Adel. Yes he’s great on his day, but just how many days won’t be his day when he’s effectively a liability?
If he was the player he was a few years back I'd snap him up but he's nowhere near that now Very talented but only Neil warnock could keep him under control
Taarabt is up there amongst our greatest ever players but is he the man we need right now? We have a group of players that all want to play for each other and are all very close, could Adel temperament upset the apple cart?
Sinlges comment re Warnock keeping him under control is spot on, no other manager has managed it.
I would love to see the old Taarabt back but I doubt he still exists. Even he was still as good as then, Adel is not going to come on our wage restrictons, any more than Charlie Austin would.
To be fair, do we even really need Adel back? And even if we did need him, would we want an ego like that again after finally getting rid of all the inflated egos?
