Such a strange player as he had a knack of scoring goals but clearly had the wrong attitude as he disappeared without a trace this season and most of last.
When you see Wells playing you realise how poor Sylla was in his all round play.
He was probably on big wages too, glad to see him out the door.
Out of interest, one media link outlined what his departure would mean in terms of bringing someone else in under the FFP ruling:
The rules state that the Hoops are able to bring in a new senior signing if they're replacing an outgoing player. This would mean that any new arrival would need to arrive on a free transfer, and could not be paid more than £600,000 per year (£11,500 per week), or be paid a salary of more than 75% of the player which he's replacing. QPR would also be unable to pay any fees to agents or other intermediaries as part of any deal.
So is there much point in bringing anyone in this January? Ideally we do need at least one striker for next season; and a replacement for Freeman perhaps, if he goes, but it seems best to me to use loan players for now and look in the summer.
So assuming Sylla was on £20,000 a week we could sign somebody for free on £5,000 a week.
We should save up any money for the summer. The squad is in a comfortable position, unlikely to make the play offs with no fear of relegation. Stick with what we have.
Ideally we would be able to sign Wells in the summer, he may still be beyond us though. Cameron could be available on a free in the summer.

I would rather we used his salary saving and any fee money to extend the contracts of Bidwell and Pawel. They are both key members of the team and deserve to have their contracts renewed.
Even though we look like losing Sylla and Hemed is out injured I would hope that rather than bringing in another striker on loan we give Oteh a chance to prove himself.
In this window I think we need to get some of youngsters out on loan so that they can either sink or swim. It's time to find out whether the likes of Smyth, Owens, Giles Phillips etc., are good enough for regular first team football. Depending on how the Rangel injury is progressing we might even consider getting Kakay a loan deal.
