I know clubs try to have players competing with each other to get the best out of them and claim the starting XI shirt, do we have managers competing as well now?
I bloody hope not...this would be such a dumb move and very short sighted...stay with QPR and get us to the play-offs...then you can go and manage a club with a promotion push on your CV
Looks like Eustace could be off to Swansea. He is the bookies favourite to take over.
This would be a big loss as he's clearly a big part of what we are doing.
Would certainly not be ideal 2 weeks before the season.
The club is so secretive about who does what that it is difficult to measure what losing Eustace would mean. I can understand his desire to have another bite at the cherry though, and Swansea is a good one to do that at (even if a little insecure for managers).
So I guess the question now is who will he bring in as his assistant? Will this change unsettle the squad and training?
Odds on it's Davie Weir. He was Warb's assistant manager at Brentford, Glasgow Rangers and Nottm Forest. He is with Brighton at the moment but as a youth coach, so the step back up to assistant manager would be one he would want. Obvs he will be familiar with Warbs-ball, so hopefully relatively seemless transition. Bumped into him briefly in Orlando - seemed an alright chap.

That is a very good shout Rosco Bosco because Dave Weir (Assitant Manager) along with Frank Mcparland (Director of Football) seem to follow Warburton wherever he goes. (Brentford, Rangers, Forest)
The big challenge that Eustace will face is that Swansea are no longer receiving parachute payments and have lost key players including Andre Ayew, Marc Guehi and Freddie Woodman.
I think that Swansea are now in the complete rebuilding position that we were after losing our parachute payments and having to offload a lot of our high earners.
Eustace probably realised that because of those issues he couldn't win because the expectations of the fans are going to exceed what they can realistcally achieve. To add to that he then comes back for the United game and sees how much we have progressed and prefers to be a part of what could be exciting times at QPR.
Had it confirmed that John Eustace is staying at QPR after eventually deciding against taking the Swansea job.
Personally believe him staying is a huge boost for the club - as big as a new signing - as he has a major impact behind the scenes and very popular with squad
...and he also reports that Eustace could be offered a new deal.

I'd love this to have been the reason but it's more likely his wife didn't fancy a trip to Wales or they said he'd have no say on transfers
