With a good pre season he should be able to put his injury concerns behind him. I just hope he is better than Tom Carroll was for us.
Bringing Amos in from Spurs is another positive sign that Warburton is certainly going to be playing a certain style of football.
I would add that it also indicates that Warburton is the type of manager and QPR now the type of club that Premier sides are willing to loan players too. That was not really the case last season. All looking a little more positive as we move towards that important first game of the season...

Funnily enough I was going to post the other day the question of whether we would like Amos back next season. Now there are rumours of us looking for a permanent deal.
I thought this could come up because he is clearly a talented player but he hasn't done enough to prove himself to Spurs in his time with us.
After his injury I think it was important he got a full season under his belt and it will benefit him next season.
I would expect him to improve next year and if we can beef him up a bit I would be happy to have him back on loan.
Whether we should sign him on a permanent deal would depend on his price. Levy always overvalues players he sells and undervalues those he wants to buy. I see him at somewhere between £1m and £1.5m so if Spurs wanted more than that I would politely decline and look elsewhere.

I think Luke Amos has improved with every game since the restart and would certainly be happy to see him playing for QPR next season. I do agree with stoatey that he needs to strengthen his body to improve his chances in 50/50 ball conditions.
This indicates that Amos is appreciated as a benefit to the squad; and that the club is distancing itself from any link between Eze and Amos in an exchange transfer.

I personally still really rate Amos. I still remember the opening day against Stoke when he was keeping us ticking over excellently and it was only when he went off at 2-0 up that suddenly we conceded and lost our control of the game. The problem was he didn't dominate games like that enough. He needs to become a big player rather than somebody who can drift in and out of games.
I imagine at the very least we will try and get him back on loan, but to sign him permanently would certainly be a marker of intent.

That would be my stance too. He has developed well this season, after a nasty injury, but I agree he needs to become more robust to compete in the Championship (or higher). I see him as a bit like Ball in that he contributes a lot by drawing players away and never letting up. A side needs at least one 'terrier' to disrupt the opposition's play, but it often is not appreciated or even recognised when you have skilful players like Eze, BOS and Chair alongside them.

If we were to sign him on a permanent deal what do you think is a fair price. I think that at between a £1m and £1.5m we should sign him but nothing more.

Seems from press reports that Boro are trying to grab Amos! It seems we are often looking at the same players.....
Whilst I wouldnt fancy moving to Middlesborough you can see why players would want to play for Warnock. His record of getting teams promoted from the Championship is outstanding.
Warnock also has that effervesant personality that makes players want to play for him. He was the only manager that ever really got Taarabt to perform and he got bread and butter players like Shaun Derry and Clint Hill to lead and control things on the pitch.
In respect of Amos I think that despite Warburton being a more dour character than Warnock he might be swayed by wanting to stay in London. However, if he sees us selling our better players then he might believe that Middlesborough are a more progressive team.

I cannot help feeling that all these moves by Warnock resemble that orgasm scene from 'When Harry Met Sally' and the lady on the next table says "I'll have whatever she is having!". The Warlock is just going through the QPR shopping list and saying that!
Warnock has a habit of coming back to get QPR players. He took Smithies and Hoilett to Cardiff and of course has already taken Hall to 'Boro. I don't suspect he will be the last.
I hope we can get Amos. I think if he was OUR player and not on loan we'll start to see more from him too. He clearly has potential. He was breaking into the Spurs first team before he got injured 2 years ago.
