Warnock has a habit of coming back to get QPR players. He took Smithies and Hoilett to Cardiff and of course has already taken Hall to 'Boro. I don't suspect he will be the last.
I hope we can get Amos. I think if he was OUR player and not on loan we'll start to see more from him too. He clearly has potential. He was breaking into the Spurs first team before he got injured 2 years ago.
I agree re his potential, and I am guessing his slow start was a reflection of his concern regarding his injury. In the latter part of the season he was chasing balls far more aggressively and not backing down. I feel that a huge plus for the club is the squad's camaraderie, and I expect that to sway him to carry on at QPR.
There are more strong rumours that Amos is coming back to us permanently, some even say the deal could be done today. But they were saying the same thing about Goode last week!
If he does sign on a permanent deal he certainly showed enough last season to prove he can play in the Championship and I think he will get better this season.
He will have proved to himself that he is over his injury and with a full season behind him his fitness level should also be better.
Should he sign for us he could be a major influence on the team.

Totally agree with this, sign him up....
Hopefully only waiting for that man who comes along to dot all those 'i' and cross those 't'!

To quote my own response: It seems those dots and crosses have been made as Twitter indicates that, despite Boro interest (of course), a 3 year contract has been agreed (with add-ons); and Luke was at training with the squad today.
Amos is a young defensive midfielder who has the potential to be very good. I hope his signing is made official soon so that we can get on and sign the defender and goal scorer that we vitally need.

I agree. We look to have got 2 midfielders (Amos & Thomas) whereas the elusive striker and even an extra CB are proving difficult. Fingers crossed (when not typing)!
Last year he was average in a team that scored and conceded lots of goals.
He has lots of potential and we need to see some of the performances he showed in pre-season last year. If we can get him to ghost into the box and take the chances that will be created by Lyndon Dykes then he could turn out to be a bargain.
Well I hope this is the first and last serious injury this season....our squad looks good but you still need the luck of them all staying fit...this is a significant loss and fingers crossed he comes back ready for next season
Plus I know he gets some stick but I remain convinced we are a better team with him in it. I think that could be exposed going forward.
Totally agree on both those points! The fact that nobody can name a good 'fit' to cover his position says a lot.... I am hoping that Willock or Chair or Bettache can modify their game to make that 'fit'.
Well it is only a another two warm-up games before the new season starts and Luke Amos did not appear against Man Utd. Anybody have any idea why he is still unavailable to play - even a few mins of the game?
This from WLS today:
Amos’ comeback going well, says QPR boss By West London Sport 26/07/2021
Luke Amos is on loan from Tottenham. QPR boss Mark Warburton says Luke Amos’ comeback continues to go well. The midfielder is working his way back from the second anterior cruciate ligament injury of his career. Amos has yet to return to full training but has been involved in the squad’s preparations for the new season.
“He’s getting there,” said Rangers manager Warburton, who is expected to sign a new contract before the campaign gets under way. “It’s still non-contact, but he’s in drills with the players which is great to see. You will not see a more dedicated professional than Luke, who has suffered the frustration of two ACLs and has responded so well. He’s still a few weeks away but he’s working very, very hard.”
So now we know where he is on what has been obviously a very long road back to full match fitness.
