Well I checked the 2 possible trainline options and one is supposedly OK for Saturday, so I have booked my ticket in Zone E for the game against PNE! in the past we have struggled against Preston's strong defence, especially in the air, and they are doing well this season. So I wonder how we will try to deal with them. They do have injury problems at the back apparently, that could mean Bauer, Davies & Fisher are all unavailable. In their last game they had a makeshift RB so they could be regarded as having defence problems too!
Onto the likely starting eleven. This is Warburton (still) we are talking about, so I expect no changes unless they are forced upon him; but I do expect Matt Smith to be made available for the bench after his U23s run-out. Sadly, Mlakar was apparently injured in that game so he will probably not be an option. The preference should be to keep the ball down, play it through to the forwards and allow shots from the midfield. I am not sure whether Wells is carrying an injury so I do not know who will partner Hugill up front. Anyway, here is what I expect the team to be:
