In a WLS interview, Mick Beale stated Sinclair would be further developed as a striker, whilst listing the others regarded as his competitors for the striking role. Those included Willock, but not Chair so definitely meant strikers. It will be interesting to see if Willock can successfully adapt from a roaming 10 role to become a striker....
I didn't hear it that he's really considering Willock as a striker, I thought he meant that Willock can play there if we really needed him too. I don't believe he has any intention to convert his position.
I hope Chris Willock's welcome return from injury, where he has vied for MotM, scoring a great goal will not result in renewed interest from PL clubs and their ilk.....
Ahhhhh....I was waiting for someone to raise this point...I may even put up a poll because the question now is...do you hold on to Willock because of the obvious difference he brings both to the team and results or do you sell him for Eze money and rebuild?
Of course it's not really a question, the club will sell if someone makes a 20mil + offer I would imagine.
I imagine or at least hope we are trying to get him to sign a new deal. He only has 1 year + the extra 1 year the club can add. But if it gets to the point where the club extend then it's clear he doesn't want a new deal.
He's definitely worth nearly as much as Eze in my view. Getting better all the time and so important to us.
There's no world in which he's signing a new deal... His next stop is the PL or at the very least to the likes of Watford, Burnley, Norwich... A recently relegated side with a strong likelihood of bouncing back up.
No, the decision is clear... Sell now if there are big bucks being offered or sell at the end of the season for decent money.
I guess we have to assume he will be wanted and I am sure he wants to prove himself in a higher league (whether PL or elsewhere in Europe), but whom do we see as a natural replacement - Taylor Roberts or Luke Amos perhaps? I am sure whoever covers his place will not play the same way (who else could?) but we need the most effective.
Given how the season is broken up this season, I don’t think it’s beyond possible he is sold in the Winter window.
Yes that does make sense...I guess the main thing is not to sell him unless you still have a chance to spend some of the money to bring in more decent players...otherwise we'll end up with lots of money and a relegation battle.

Yeah I agree, the warning would be Hull with Jarrod Bowen.
I know we have an option for a year extension on Willock’s contract at the end of the season, but he doesn’t have to accept that and he could easily leave in the summer for a heavily cut down price.
How was he not even on the bench last night? And if he wasn't even on the bench yesterday can we really expect him to start and play 70mins on Saturday?
Is he being wrapped in cotton wool in preparation for a transfer? I fear he is.

It is slightly odd that this time last week Beale was saying Willock could potentially make it for Sunderland... but he didn't even make the bench against Blackpool.
But I've got my fingers crossed that he just truly believed that with Roberts getting his first start against Blackpool he didn't need to rush Willock back and could give him another few days and we'd still win.
