We have been on touch (finally) about a new deal with his current contract ending in the summer. He has however confirmed other clubs have already been in touch.
He surely deserves a new deal? He is player of the year for me for establishing himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet after all of his injury worries. And he is still very young with his best years ahead of him.
The question then becomes will be want to stay if more money is offer on the table elsewhere?
I would be disappointed to lose him because he has improved beyond all expectations, been flexible enough to make another position (CB) his own, and his long throws are a great addition. The club should make it difficult for him to leave by offering an attractive new contract. However, I suspect he will be snapped up by a side prepared to pay more and/or offer him a place at a PL side (although probably that will be a place on the bench).

He is defiantly a very good Championship layer, not sure if he will make a Prem team yet due to his injury record, maybe one of the promoted sides in the close season? I would hope that if we can offer a reasonable offer that he would take in to consideration us standing by him for so long during his injuries.

Well if he does go I hope it does not end up like Charlie Austin who seems to have attracted a few injury setbacks plus being out of favour at times at Southampton.... It must be really frustrating to be so good as a first team regular in the Championship that you are poached to play for a PL side, but then just spend the next season missing most games!
Has been our best defender by a country mile this season. The fact he hasnt been offered a new contract before now really shows how poorly managed this club has become. Clearly we have learnt nothing from Charlie Austin being allowed to run his contract down and then getting peanuts for him. I know Robinson doesnt have a great injury record but this year he has been very good and hasnt been troubled by any of his old problems. The fact he is only 24 and can play as a left back or a centre back is a major plus. Why not get rid of the DOF and use his salary to ensure we keep our better players because I am yet to see what benifit he brings!

I am struggling to justify the role of the DoF when I feel a panel comprised of CEO/First Team Manager/Training Academy Director/Head of Scouting could handle transfers in/out as part of their current roles.
Have to agree considering we have a DOF a HEAD OF RECRUITMENT. We can't put it down to HOOS he is not football minded more the above to blame. I have no doubt his agent will be alerting numerous clubs. Hope he remembers the loyalty this club showed during his bad times.
He says he has had no contact from the club about a new contract. He wants to stay but has no offer. What are we upto he has been one of the better players this season. What's the DOF upto. Other clubs will step in soon.
That's a surprise. He's done more than enough this season to show that he is over his injury problems and one of our better players. As you say, it seems like a bit of an own goal.
I hope that something is going on behind the scenes since he made that comment. There seems to be teams starting to make moves for players already so hoping no one is starting to look at him before we get him to sign.
