Leaves our midfield very short when he's off on duty from Boxing Day Have we enough to cover him while he's gone Do we call manning back We also have no Cameron at the moment so we're not in a good position to be when you want to win games
I believe that due to Luongo being called into the Australian squad for the Asia Cup it means he will be absent for between 4 to 7 QPR Championship games which is not good. My preference would be to put Freeman back into midfield and play BOS wide left. The other option would be to play Manning in the role that Luongo currently occupies. Either way I think we need to bring Manning back from Rotherham because we will have a shortage of midfielders.
Neither Manning or Scowen has played for us in the Luongo roll they are both more suited to a more defensive role, and I don't know if we have an option to call Manning back anyway.. As Stoatey has said we could more Freeman into the more central roll and play Bos out wide
Or we could change the way we are setup and go back to 442 with a midfield of BOS Cousins or Scowen Freeman and Pavel and upfront we have a choice of Wells with one of Hamed Smith Symth or Oteh
Luongo is a loss but we still have lots of options even with Cameron missing. McClaren just needs to make the right choice
It may be time to try out the youngsters again with the team playing with a little more confidence
Guess my question is why the club has got itself into this position, where they are contracted to release Luongo for international duty for so long and still let Manning go out on loan for so long. For me, Chair is the best fit if Freeman continues on the wing, but I would get Manning back for January.

Good news! Australia have been defeated and so Luongo is heading home.
He has been coming off the bench in most games, so he should be pretty fresh as he has been playing less than those who have still been with us. No need for an extended break upon his return.
I know I should know this, but I've just realised that Luongo is gone! I thought he was solid (of course I guess I would...) and a loss. Oh well. I wish him the best! I don't think we ever saw his true potential. I think he is misused by the Australian team as well!

Right now with Amos and Smith I don't think we will miss him. We may miss him in 12 months once they return to their clubs and we are relying on plucking gems on loan again which is a risky business.
I always believed he was a good player, no doubt, but no more than that. He is not next level, that is probably why he has only ended up at Sheffield Wednesday and why he always ends up on the periphery of the Australinan national team too. He is just a dependable player.
