Lots of rumours floating about that Crystal Palace are interested.
It could just be the usual made up transfer rubbish.
But if it was to be true how much do we think he is worth?
It could test the resolve of the club if an 8 figure offer was made. We are a self proclaimed selling club now, Lee Hoos reinforces that point all the time. We bring the players in, develop them, sell them for profit.
It would just be a shame to see him go as he could be a real hoops star, the name the kids want on the back of their shirts.
We are a selling club so I do expect someone to go either now or in Summer to bring in some cash so there could be some truth in the rumours. Sterling went for £2 million I think, so Eze got to be in in the £5-8 million category with a good sell on clause. Young, proven in the championship, not injury prone, can improve

Exactly what I would expect and do! The sell-on clause is important and perhaps there should be a bonus tied to the number of PL (or foreign equivalent) appearances?
I guess the bigger question is who would fill his place, at least until the end of the season - Oteh, Chair, Smyth...?

Playing devils advocate if we got a 'crazy' offer of around £10 million for Eze would you sell if that meant we could signs Wells on a permanent deal in the summer, give new deals to Bidwell, Wszolek etc and reinvest on 2 or 3 other new players?

I think I would sell, because it would help our financial state a lot; and we would not have to worry about losing key players. Not sure who would replace Eze though - Oteh? Manning? Chair? BOS?
Yes, we'd have to accept £10 million. He'd be hard to replace from our squad but we have options. Freeman or Chair or even Wszolek could play no.10. Or perhaps even BOS. Or we could bring in Oteh as a 2nd striker.

I'd sell too, especially if it meant keeping Wells.
Let's not forget that once Wells and Hemed leave our strikeforce is Smith and Oteh.
If Eze left we could play Freeman in the Eze role as Ghost suggested and then give BOS a go out wide or sign a winger which should be easier to find than a young talented No. 10.
As much as I think there is more to come from Eze I don't see how we could turn down a good offer let alone an exceptional one, we have too many players out of contact on 6 months time and we need to find the funds to either extend or replace them.
Eze is overrated in my opinion I question his work rate sometimes Very talented but if we can cash in maybe we should sell
It is only his work rate that lets him down in my opinion @singlespeed - he is strong on the ball; his distribution is normally very good; and he moves very well with the ball. The staff need to work on his commitment to his fellow players and (perhaps) his stamina, as when you compare his effort with that of Freeman, Wells, Wszolek or BOS he is found wanting. Once he becomes more of an asset he will be the finish article and QPR will reap the performance & financial benefits!
If the club got a bid of £8m or more for Eze it would be a no brainer based on their current policy of nurturing young talent and then selling them on, he would be sold.
However, whilst Eze is an exciting young player he is a long way from the finished article and still has much to learn. IMO he is not currently a Premiership player and is no more than a good prospect in the Championship. He would be a big gamble for Palace and I doubt he would get anywhere near a place in the Spurs squad. Realistically if a Premiership team were to sign Eze then it would be in their interest to loan him back to QPR for a season to get more first team experience.
Daily Express are reporting that Liverpool have now entered the race to sign Eze.
Roll on 01/02/2019 when all this speculation and false news ends!
Any scouts watching what passed for a match yesterday would have decided he was not even close to considering for a PL club - passing the ball on as quick as he could to avoid contact and dreadful marking.... Have to question why McClaren put him through the wringer yesterday as well. Even I knew Preston would, as usual, adopt a non-nonsense approach to the game and use physicality to get there way. This was a game for Scowen to be replaced by Hall, and probably Oteh or BOS/Pavel in Eze's slot. The midfield was theirs!
