Sherwood = arrogant, clueless. Mark Warburton = moneyball, pie-charts; absolutely shocking at Glasgow Rangers. Garry Rowett = his star has plummeted to earth, now the stench of failure and desperation hangs around him. Michael Appleton = the nervous supply teacher.
A pretty desperate list. And no, I don't know who either. Just none of the four horsemen of the apocalypse above.
I read that article too Rosco Bosco , albeit in shock at the news, and found myself praying it would not be Sherwood. Coming onto the forum and seeing northwesthoop as shocked as me that, despite the huge number of recent defeats, the club actually expects a change of manager will make a difference...? My gut feeling is that the club already has a replacement in mind, and there is a good chance that it could be Chris Ramsey as an interim choice. There is also the possibility that there will be no 'filip' from changing jockeys mid-race, and instead confidence remains low so defeats keep coming... [off to find the Samaritans number...]
Look at the ex players who’ve just walked in to management Lampard doing alright at Derby Bowyer doing a decent job as mentioned Gerrard just looks the part at rangers and slotted in just like that Yes some haven’t done so well but there’s a lot who could Problem is not even pep guardilola could sort our lot out McClaren just needed to stop shuffling the pack and let the young players setting into the side not loan all of them out He kept tinkering and changing formations and this is confusing the players and they just look disjointed most of the time The board had no choice to sack him,the latest poor results and our home record losing to relegation certs and constantly underperforming time after time, the fans have had enough it is not good enough and it had to be addressed,we were unlikely to win another game not even win a point and rely on Rotherham not winning to stay up

How on earth do Sherwood and Appleton get linked to the job? It really is poor journalism, they just look who is out of a job or who has ties to QPR and bung a list together. The only realistic candidate on that list is Rowett and even he wouldn't be linked if he was employed.
We need to be looking at managers who are proven in the lower leagues because that's where we are heading. Danny Cowley or Paul Tidsdale are both ambitious young managers who know what the lower leagues are all about and will also know the type of players we need.
That’s a good shout stoatey mate Maybe that’s what our problem is,we are looking for a manager and he’s then told to make us a top ten team which maybe could nick a play off spot It’s not going to happen in the short term and we need to maybe get realistic and think with our lack of finances and lack of decent players we are only going to just survive in the championship which we may only just do this season, but this season the championship has been awful, one of the worst I’ve known quality wise I don’t even think Norwich and Leeds are that good It wont be a disaster in league one with a decent manager and Wigan have shown you can come back up with the newly built squad We have to stop punching above our weight and maybe consider our current team would struggle in league one Luton are a great side and will do well in the championship and they’ve had a lot of ups and downs I’d rather no matter what league we are in win a few more games and enjoy Saturday night like I used to not endure the mire we’ve had the last 3 months
Fans are voting with their feet at the moment, attendances are down and there isn't much brightness on the horizon so this is a big appointment for the club. Get it wrong and we'll be heading further backwards very quickly with very few people left watching. Season ticket renewal time will have a lot of fans watching very closely who they appoint.
I personally feel they need to appoint somebody the fans have good will towards and positive sentiment. McClaren struggled to get the fans behind him.
I have no idea whether they would be up to the job but an Ainsworth/Hill combo would certainly get fan support from the start. They have work ethic and passion. They are strong characters and strong leaders. I'd prefer that to a McClaren-esque appointment.
Ainsworth will have good knowledge of lower league players too - the type we need to sign and improve.
It is a tough call though as they are unproven. It is just my feeling of the route we should take.
Who would you like? Who do you expectto get the job?

Rowett is now the favourite He’s not very likeable with fans and a bit up his own back side I like the sound of the ainsworth and hill combo What’s Shaun Derry doing these days by the way We need a manager that will get the crowd behind them and get some pride back to the club Warburton would be a safe choice and he’s knows this neck of the woods very well on and off the pitch Sherwood no a 100% no,he’d be gone in weeks Whoever gets it will need a big magic wand
If we are to move forward then we need a young ambitious manager who needs to be given funds to build his own team.
However as seems likely and our owners want to continue with a lack of any investment then we have to accept that the club will go backwards. If that is the case we might as well go for the cheapest option and just reappoint Chris Ramsey because he will toe the company line.
Our current squad is so lacking in talent that unless the board are willing to invest it really won't matter who becomes manager because our senior players like Lynch, Hall, Scowen etc., are no longer Championship level players and our youngsters like Lumley, Furlong Eze etc., are not consistent enough at this stage of their careers.
We have a couple of decent players in Freeman and Luongo who will possibly leave at the end of the season and our Mr Average (Bidwell) might not have his contract renewed.
We have to accept the fact that TF has ruined the club and that we need a major overhaul from the top down!
We will keep going round in circles If we get a manager like rowett it will be pointless It’s a case of starting all over again, from top to bottom If you look at the current squad and see what’s left after all the loans go back etc,we virtually have nothing decent left in the team It’s silly that the only player that is class is Rangel and he’s nearly 40 But you say the team is rubbish how did they have that great run that got McClaren manager of the month Was it the injuries to Rangel and Cameron that upset the balance of the team or did we just have a lucky patch of form The rumours will fly round and were end up with somebody we don’t like and moan about after we’re beaten 7-1 start of next season
Good riddance! It's no surprise if you look at my past posts - where I was always disparaging about the dour, unenthusiastic, uninspiring, (did I mention dour?) clueless manager that was McLaren. If we can't beat bottom clubs with the reasonably decent player roster we have then we are in big trouble - and we are in big trouble. Such a shame that the powers that be thought that he would be anything other than a failure.
Rosco...
Garry Rowett = his star has plummeted to earth, now the stench of failure and desperation hangs around him.
Love it! Such poetry - if only my students wrote with such wonderfully vivid metaphors! I hope you don't mind but I'd love to use this as an example of how to bring imagery to life with my very bored Year 10 class! It's a classic line!
Bye bye Steve! Don't let the door hit you on the way out!
Mick McCarthy would of been perfect for the job But he’s at Ireland now
Really?
It would depend what we want going forward. He'd be 'perfect' if you want to carry on finishing around 17th every season.
But if want somebody to actually develop the kids (and not send them out on loan like McClaren) and try to move us progressively forward over a number of years as the club brings in talent and sells it on for profit he's not ideal.
The club is at a real crossroads. We all spend a lot of time watching this team and debating it so are relatively well versed on the QPR situation yet I know I have no certainty over who I would appoint if given a choice. And I'm sure all of you are the same.
So I hope the club knows what it is doing because it feels like we are in a position Ipswich were in 12 months ago. Get this appointment wrong and we are only going in 1 direction. Fast.
Another good manager in my opinion Neil Harris at Millwall Yes they are not doing well but they are a young side and he has got them playing nice football and they won’t go down They also did well in the FA cup and last year in the league nearly the play offs,he’s up against it as funds are tight there too
The Times reports that we want a quick replacement for McClaren and that we have already spoken with Sherwood but he has concerns over our financial position. What's is going on at QPR, Sherwood is not and never has been a decent manager. He might be a mate of Sir Les but so was Chris Ramsey who is a nice guy but was a poor manager.
Whilst I have no confidence in TF, RG or Sir Les, I do have faith that Amit will get things right but I could be wrong if he approves the appointment of Sherwood.
We have got rid of McClaren and we now need to get rid of Sir Les, the club needs a clean sweep from the top because they have consistently got things wrong.
