....At least IF we were to drop down to League One, then we should (and I say should!) win a few games and at least the away games look more appealing! That’s the only positive I can muster up at the moment!
Understandable attitude but what a sad statement upon our season... February and March have not been kind to me and QPR are doing little to alleviate that!
Almeida looks a right hard bastard which is just what we need! It's hard to find a picture of him smiling and even when he is partly smiling he looks rather sinister.
He looks like the type of manager who will murder your wife and kids if you don't give 110% so half our squad should probably install panic rooms at home.
He's apparently used to doing well on a tight budget. If true at least the club has done the right thing and really thought about who to get.
This is the sort of guy I would like to come in Let’s hope our management can convince him to come The relatively unknown foreign manager thing has worked for Watford Lynch and cousins have already packed up and run off to a secret location
English managers haven’t done that well with us This guy could bring a whole new coaching set up and vibe to the club,he looks like he takes no prisioners type of guy Get some talent from abroad on loan have some new ideas All I’d say is they will have to stick with him no matter what as this guy is taking on one huge task and total mess But that’s all a big if and if true a totally different approach from our board which surprises me Maybe nobody else wants the job
That's probably true … apart from northwesthoop that is! Frankly, I don't have clue what the club can do now. We have just spent a year going backwards after a promising year under Olly. And even if we stay up this year I can't see us managing it next year.
That's probably true … apart from northwesthoop that is!
I will leave no stone unturned to turn this club around. I'll do 23 hour days.
I already have Rosco Bosco scouting talent north of the border, ashqpr and SydneyR scouting the next best thing from down under, kingfisher watching every 90 minutes back to analyse everything that went wrong (squad to view his Sky Pad Monday Night Football-esque analysis each Monday afternoon), minxymartin will be the optimist psychology guy who makes the boys believe they can win every game, stoatey is my CEO making sure Tony Fernandes has no influence whatsoever, ranger-boy is my sports statistician giving me all the data on an Ipad live during the match so I know every detail of every player, Ghost is taking over youth development, surrey chad is first team coach and singlespeed will be parading the training ground on his bike making sure Joel Lynch doesn't come within 100 feet of the place. I have a few of you in mind for assistant manager but I've had to promise my Dad that role (We are hoping for a Lincoln brothers style impact).
If I've not mentioned you don't worry, you will all be given further scouting, coaching and media roles across the club.
Premier League here we come.

I personally think it will take a drop down a league to get this mess sorted out We are not good enough for the championship and we may only just survive mainly due to our loan players and better players like Freeman and Luongo Why not use our youngsters in league one and produce a young team playing a new brand of football that isn’t like watching paint dry I’m fed up of this fake ambition from our board we can sneak into the play offs etc, let’s win more games in league one and hopefully do well get that positive vibe back into west London again,it might not happen straight away but we could go up to the championship a much better club financially and on the pitch We are slowly dying at the moment and it’s painful for the fans and some of the players too, some know the future is glum and are already off or on holiday,it shows and I’d be the same working for a firm and then being told I could made redundant in a few months time or sent to another company,I wouldn’t have the same desire or passion for the job I had before We’re punching above our weight in the championship and until the club gets itself properly back on its feet, build back up from a lower level,we are a big club and we will be back to where we belong one day,but we cocked up in the premier league and this is the huge fallout from it
What’s the opinion on Appleton He is obviously not a bad coach and manager But it’s got McClaren written all over it again Just can’t see him having any new ideas or ways of developing youth talent into our first team
Appleton lasted 15 games at Blackburn who at the time were a similar club to us having come down from the Premier League and finding themselves in disarray in the following years. So that doesn't bode well. At Pompey, Blackpool and Blackburn he didn't get above a 26% win rate.
He was much improved at Oxford at a lower level as we've acknowledged but why does that qualify him above many other names for a job at a higher level? Surely Ainsworth has the same list of achievements going up from League 2 but has QPR connections and more matches under his belt so why would we target Appleton over Ainsworth? It doesn't make sense to me.
Therefore he's not my choice, he's also not a particularly exciting name and with attendances down I do worry appointing somebody like Appleton won't put bike back on seats. Fans will be waiting for a first run of losses to get the knives back out and question the decision.
That said, the longer it takes to appoint a manager the more my confidence is growing that we have to trust the clubs choice as it means they have talked to the candidates at great length and must have a list of reasons why they made the eventual choice. Hopefully!
