It would be disappointing to see him go but we know that the clubs needs to balance the books. Unfortunately, that means our better players have to be sold.
We have to hope that we get a reasonable price for him rather than letting him go on the cheap.
According to the media, Sam Field is valued at £3m only! I would want far more for him!!

Id like to think he's worth more but In the current market I reckon that the club would happily take £3m. The club should be able to get more because Field has 12 months left on his current deal with the club also holding an option of being able to extend his contract by a further 12 months if needed.

Unfortunately stoatey is right; £3 million maybe with an add on or sell on fee would probably be as good as we will get. He's not a flair player who would command a bigger fee.

Perhaps that is the case but his loss will be felt far more than that of Dieng when it comes to games! Whoever tries to replace Dieng will find it that much more difficult without Sam defending our half!!
Looks like Burnley and Rangers are about to step up their interest in signing him. After the teams performance on Saturday and when you consider they will both pay him a lot more than we can it seems inevitable that he will go.
I don't want him to go, he seems a really nice guy too.
However if selling him would allow a bit more of a rebuild and us to actually buy 3 or 4 players Ainsworth would like from the lower leagues then maybe it could help us.
So far we are just getting free transfers. We do need to sell somebody at some point.

The answer here is to try and market Ilias to a Saudi side, hoping that he'd be swayed by the money and the lifestyle. Field feels so integral to the side that he's worth keeping for the season and having him run his contract down. That said there are midfielders like him littered around leagues, and that style of player is easier to replace than say a Chair. But having gone this late in to the window, the best free alternatives in that area have gone, and we're going to have to spend to replace a player we could've just kept for 12 months, which with so many other holes in the team doesn't make much sense. Factor in the sell-on clause to West Brom, and it looks even more foolish.
You'd wonder if they would take a bid for Sinclair if one came in.
