I still remain hopeful that Dykes will get us ten - but can see a strong shift among the forum regulars... Still I do miss the days of having a striker who you could be certain would score most games. It's been awhile!

20 games - 16 goals scored
Hahaha thanks NW...i should probably qualify that by saying we need a particular type of striker because you could have a 25 year old Charlie Austin playing and you'd still be struggling if you can't get the ball to him in the box.

you can also tell Beale is trying to keep the board happy by playing Kakay and Shodipo and bringing on Sinclair Armstrong too. (Armstrong im glad about as he should have been given an opportunity well before now)
BUT for me the surprise of the 1st XI Beale did put out first game was Jimmy Dunnes non inclusion Bizzare......lets hope he shows a bit more backbone for me it seems hes trying to keep all them upstairs happy

And stoatey do those numbers imply bad strikers or poor creativity across the rest of the team? 🤷♂️
Not sure how we measure creativity but if you look at our last 20 matches we have won just 4, drawn 3 and lost 13.
Our average possession per game is 52% In those 20 games we have only scored a 16 goals from 56 shots on target. So a goal every 3.5 shots on target. Our average number of shots per game is 10 (206 shots in 20 games)
Stats will never tell the full story but it seems from our number of shots that chances are being created to get the attacking players into decent positions. The big issues is the number of shots (73% off target) that are not threatening the goalkeeper. I don't know each players numbers for shots/shots on target but it has become frustrating to see some of our players shooting when a pass may be the better option.
Defensively we have conceded 31 goals in those 20 games with only 2 clean sheets. If we continue to concede at a rate of 1.55 goals/game it equates to 71 goals for the season. Last season Barnsley who were bottom of the table conceded 73 goals.

Kakay is our only right back and was fine at the weekend. Shodipo as well only playing as Willock, Roberts and Richards aall unavaliable to start and he had a good pre season Dunne looked like a back up player this season if we are playing a back 4 but will get his chance at some point
